We need your feedback on an update to the rarity system!

According to the first post;

“ Once the best option is decided, we'll announce that new system in advance, and then make that change two weeks later. ”

So, I’m hoping for sometime mid September? If they take immediate action based on the results of this poll, that is.

I really like Panne's edit of my original rarity stars mockup, so I sat down and made a version with the colors proposed by Fellefan! I wasn't liking how the "shiny" bar was looking (it just looked a lot like the SR bar tbh), but thought the rainbow OMGSR was cute and hopefully not too similar to the custom bar...? Who knows.

I really liked how in the last bar of this one it has all the colors. I feel like it ties a direct contrast to the first one’s absence of colors

True, you have a good point. But if the star system is actually implemented, the rainbow colors would most likely be used as the rarity bar for custom pets.
(sorry for pointing this out a billion times but it’s really bothering me)

about the "extremely" name
I agree that it sounds and looks wonky. I really liked the options "Super" and "Extra" that were in Lacuna's post! :3
The reasons are: looks good in a group name, sounds better since they're smaller words, and initials are not in use with any other rarity!
edit: I also wouldn't be against changing "OMG so" to "Ultra" as i've seen a few people suggest, but at the same time I will grieve the loss of their chicken-smoothieness flair /lh

I personally love it so much!! it's so cute!!! But i'm worried it might not help the color blind users?? I have no idea, i'm just unnecessarily worried x'D
I'd also prefer colors that aren't too bright cause my eyes hurt /lh

I still don't know if this will fix trading at all, since part of what makes pets "valuable" is the type of pet and/or their look. It isn't always just about actual rarity.

Hopefully it'll at least help with all the other pets that aren't the 'extreme demand' pets, something needs to give because trading has become ridiculous

Also here is a rainbow ultra rare since I saw some people talking about how adding more colours could mean that the blue and purple could be confusing.

IIRC the rainbow can't be used for rarities because custom pets already use it

I really disagree with this because custom pets are so infrequent that they shouldn't even be a consideration. Technically speaking based on population they'd be OMGSR anyways.

Also, the custom bar has a heart, which is already distinguishing enough IMO.

I dont think it’ll be that immediate, but I do think it’ll be implemented before December 18th

This change is just one of a few that are being worked on! Current issues can't just be solved by one solution, but instead a lot of "little" ones all together. When the next possible change is ready to be shown, staff will do the same thing here and ask for everyone's opinions on it. For now, we're encouraging everyone to head on over to Site Suggestions and either add their own suggestion, or make a contribution to an already existing contribution! We all like seeing what ideas everyone comes up with!
