Community opinion needed! UR Items, yay? or nah!

I personally don’t like the idea.
The focus on this site is and always has been collecting pets, with items being just an add on to those said pets. There are some reeaaaally awesome and cool ones and it‘s already hard enough to trade for them without them being ur. I dunno, I personally don’t want the extra stress of trying to collect them, ESPECIALLY not if they are going to be extra awesome so I feel the need to have them. If that makes any sense xD
Just my point of view, I also understand why some people (well, a lot obviously) like the idea.

I second this as an avid item collector. With monthly store items being temporary now, we already have a rare item series of sorts through them so I think the UR would make it insanely hard to get to the point of not even trying. Y’all could do a holiday gift bag at the end of the year for unreleased items at the store for a limited time at free or a discount which could use those unused models as well as provide a designated space for unlabeled or non set random items

While I like the idea of eventually adding UR items, I think the item archive and item trading need a huge overhaul before adding such items would be beneficial. With the way items are now all I can see UR items leading to is a lot of people getting ripped off, either intentionally by a ninja trader or unintentionally because theres no tags on the items when trading.

I joined in 2009 and the entire time I've been here I literally don't trade items because there isn't a consistent market for them, nor is it easy to trade them. There is really no way for me to tell when trying to trade with someone what year an item was released, if its a particularly common item, if its a bought store item or a free store item. If I want to know when they were released I have to open a separate window and go through every page of the item archive hoping to find the specific one I wanted to make a trade offer on. That level of hassle with trading items has left me, and a large portion of the community, just not bothering to trade items.

They’re pretty cool regardless! I’d love to see more “unique” looking items in the future. As cute as the cakes are, I think UR items should be like the UR pets. Unique and special, something that hasn’t been done before, and very eye catching!

Meh. not too fond of the idea of more ur items. they were fun for a first time but not sure it's a good thing considering items don't have defined values at all


If more are ever made or actually even for petss i think something should be added so that upon adopting it is clearly stated somewhere that this item or pet is a special release to prevent people ripping off others

I agree with a lot of people here-UR items are a fun idea but I think without some kind of flag or warning that they're special or valuable it could make trading hard, and leave people who are unaware open to scammers. I think in general the item system could use some rarity guidance, though that's obviously a bigger and more long term project.

i had no idea what UR even meant until someone explained it to me. I feel there should be a guide somewhere or notice that "you have obtained a super rare item! please make sure to keep it safe or only trade it for what you deem fair!" the cakes, to me, just look like cakes, so i can imagine a newbie being swindled out of their UR item for a pretty flower.

I LOVE the idea of UR items. PLEASE don’t stop making them now 😭 I agree that the cakes were not the ideal choice, but honestly maybe a unique and exclusive plushie or creature item would be better!! Or even a special wig or contact item. I loved the item re release last year, it was such a treat. I really feel like there is a lot of potential for this concept!!

I do agree that there should maybe be a special tag or something on it to distinguish it from other items so that players that don’t really know about the items value can know right away it’s special. Because items don’t have rarities, it could make trading hard when the UR items are released, but I don’t think just because trading would be a bit difficult the idea should be tossed away entirely. Maybe if anything, a new item valuing system should be implemented? If items had rarities of some sort that would be the absolute best, but I think there may be other options as well.

I love the release of UR items or just the re release of items. I have no idea how item rarities work so just a chance to get older Items just like with the pets is exciting.

If you give items rarity tags then I am all for more UR items being dropped.

I'm not a fan of UR items. Its just more items that will be unobtainable for 99% of players and for newbies to be scammed out of. Especially since items dont have rarity tags or any indicator that something is a store item or UR item.
