I would love to see the old designs on the new lines, but as new releases not replacements for the old ones. That way those who like the new lines better can collect the new ones while those who like the old one better can collect those. It would also be cool to be able to collect both versions of the same design, like you can when a design is put on a different species.

I think if the lines are changed though that it would be nice to have a separate archive, maybe on a wiki or something, where you could go to see the old lines. Even having images like in the examples where it shows both the old and new lines next to each other would be nice (not overlapping).

I like the new lines and the idea of being able to use the items on any horse you want, but I like the uniqueness of the old lines too and I wouldn't want to see them be completely gotten rid of.

To me, changing the lines would be like just throwing out the older horses and continuing on with just the new ones. In other words CS wouldn't have old horses anymore, just old designs and I'm not interested in that.

no, i've changed my mind. I just don't think you can capture the cutness of this on this. the draft lines are lovely, i must admit, but i don't think it's worth losing the old lines - even though i've never been a big fan of the older horse and pony lines - i don't think it would be worth losing a part of cs history.

I don't really mind either way; the old designs on the new linearts would be awesome, but this is exactly what I wanted to say:

especially that last paragraph :C

that runs the risk of an increased amount of scammers :C (there are already people who occasionally try to mislead others with similar-design pets, such as dogtag vs. nontag or the April Fool's moonjewel vs. the sunjewel, etc)

Spread the word to end the word, because discrimination based on perceived or actual IQ/"intelligence" is no better than discrimination based on race, gender, etc.

Context, consistency, and clear antecedents are golden.
I neither read nor speak between the lines. But I will analyze your language.

I really don't like this.
The change from old line arts to the current ones has several chances to really mess with the design. They wouldn't look the same, even with a 'perfect' transition it would rid them of what the original line art gave them. The sense of character from the ponys eye creeping out so sweetly from under its forelock to the playful appearance of the horse line art. The pps have their own unique charm to them, one i have to politely say is lacking in the new line art. Even with disregarding the change in stance and appearance they would lose their simplistic side. The shading is far different with the new line arts then the older, that alone though small in factor really does change how it looks. It's better shading but it would suffer the loss of simplistic shading. Seeing the old line arts side by side with the new really shows the change and the age of Chickensmoothie. It allows older members to hold and remember fragments of the past by just looking at the horses they got before the change was put into place.
By all means change it if you please but it's not going to be a happy or welcomed change, at least for me.

This sounds like a cool idea, but I'll miss the old designs. :c

Well, why not have both?
Maybe there can be a shop where you can "trade in" your horses? Some sort of button where you can decide to have to old lineart or the new? You'd have the same pet ID number you'd just be deciding on what art to use.

Honestly, I like the idea of being able to use items universally on horses, but some like the RBM and Buckskin PPS are kind of iconic. It would be like updating the CS dog lineart.

I don't agree with this at all. I like having all the different linearts; they kind of show a bit of CS's history... and I don't want the first horses and ponies I ever adopted to suddenly look different from the way they did when I got them! It would feel like they were different pets entirely. I'd feel like I was losing them.

The old designs would look lovely in the new linearts, but it's just not worth giving up the old ones.

We would not re-release them on new lines AND keep the original pets on the old lines, that would be completely besides the point of making new versions.

We would either replace the old images, or keep them. There is no interest in duplicating all the old designs onto new lines while still keeping the old lines since that would solve nothing.

AGREE!

If I have an old horse in my collection, if you guys change the lines, will MY horse change lines, too? Or will it be a new release?
