I would chose the older ones.
In my opinion who cares about the items! I don't, what matters is the horse and the artist. Times Change but that dosen't mean we have to change the pets. It's like taking a robin and turning it into a blue jay, kinda.....

Personally I really really REALLY like the newer horses. They have so much more...power in their look ;u;
Honestly, I never collected the horses and ponies until Yulynh's lines came around.

I understand the nostalgia behind the horses but updating the lineart would really make everything more uniform, and make less of a job for artists to adjust the items to EVERY single horse lineart. Even the old designs look really lovely in the new lineart, at least in my eyes ;u;

Guys, friendly reminder that the items aren't the main reason they're doing this. Neither is the legality of the lines themselves. It's for the uniformity of the horse lines as a whole within the site.
Also, you can't really compare it to Malk dogs vs Tess dogs; Malk's are very nearly a separate species when compared to the normal dog adopts, with dogs, foxes, and wolves all coming from the same litter and all being very different line arts. Not to mention that she was merging an entire website-it's a very different situation.

But then that just makes CS BORING having all the same lines for each breed?!? Someone up there said get RID of the warrior Cat lines to, and then soon Tess' horse lines will go and any of the ORIGINAL lines that make them the pets they are will VANISH and we will lose the history and growth and difference between the years. I can not express enough how much I hate the idea that this will happen. I LOVE all the old lines. That is what adds to the character of CS and helps it to stand out from other websites, it's not all the same lines coloured over and over. Some people like other lines more, but to take that away from people, even if they are the minority seems unfair especially since we've had them for so long. That's what makes CS.. Well CS the ability to have selection of why to collect the difference the history.

also, will zebras be changed ?
since they fall under equimagine art as well, yet you only mentioned unicorns & donkies being changed too.

The zebras are unlikely to change unless we did a separate poll including new zebra lines so people could decide

I would pick the new lines. The designs would look so much cleaner, clearer, and better. Plus, they'd fit properly in; having various line-arts for the horses and ponies is just really strange, odd, and weird. It just doesn't all make sense and it doesn't fit at all. :U

And a small bonus is that I'd finally get to use proper items on the old horses, and I'd be able to include them in my realistic horse-pony hoard. <3

This is a great idea, Tess!

During my time on Chicken Smoothie, I have always loved the old equimagine linearts, and I still do. But I think this is a really great idea! It may make the older equines not seem that out of reach, to newbie's delight, and it will help out with getting the items to fit more of them. I love the new draft lineart, way to go!

Yulynh's horses don't appeal to me because of the lack of muscle in their legs.

Also agree with this, everyone is saying "You might as well change malk's lines if you change equimagine's", and that isn't true. Also people only think this change may happen because of the items not completely fitting, but its not just that... ._.

I honestly think we should have somewhere explaining the equimagine line problem to stop confusion

except it's sort of hidden away if u get what i mean, i think it should be bolded and put in red text so ppl notice.
like seriously it's not just about friggen items fitting omg.
and i find that the coats all look much nicer on the Yulynh lines than the equi lines, and the 'natural' coats actually look more 'natural' on the Yulynh lines (1st image).

I'm rather neutral on this because I am not a huge fan of the horses/ponies in the first place, but I am leaning towards the "yes" side. I can think of quite a few designs that would look very nice in the new linearts.

Separate poll would be incredible. If we do end up changing all of the other lines, I think we might as well develop something new for the zebras! Look how incredible Yulynh's lines for the draft horses are, and they're just from scratch created solely for the purpose of this project. c; Perhaps others would disagree seeing as the zebras are some of the rarest pets onsite. However, if we're going to change everything about the equine lines, why not truly change everything? If what we're going at is uniformity, I think it'd be a great idea. c;

I really don't want them changed. I've been collecting the old pony linearts because they're so... Sweet! But... I don't want them changed. I mean, think of the Buckskin and Dice PPS. Do you know how ugly that might be? I mean, I love the current PPS ponies, but you wouldn't be able to capture the design as well. I mean, I really hated that the idea of losing such an adorable lineart. What would CS be without a past? Imagine putting the old Scourge into a new cat lineart. It. Would. SUCK. But what if one day the old linearts are forgotten? I think it's not right to just totally wipe out the old linearts. I think plenty of the designs made to specifically fit that lineart would be ruined. Please, just think about it. The collectors, especially.
