I vote yes ma'am! Although I realize it'll be a heck of a huge job for our artists -- it would really help to make all things organized -- the items would all fit on only one type of lineart (yaay) -- and good golly, I'm totally in love with Yulynh's lineart, I'd be so happy to see the older horses in her lines!
I'm very excited as well for the draft horses!

when first i appear i seem mysterious
but when explained i'm nothing serious{ characters · art shop }

I did some searching and found comparisons of Equimagine's linearts to actual photos, and one of them is not only traced exactly, but the horse's design in the photo was used in one of the releases. As much as I'd hate to see the old linearts go, I'm starting to think it'd be a good idea because of the consequences of art theft Chicken Smoothie can get into if a photographer of the traced photos decides to press charges, as this is a large and in no ways an unpopular site.
you have to think about it , the warrior cats .
some how it got to the author .

I'm really not big on the current linearts. I like Eqimagine's much, much better. They have more livelihood and character, instead of just a trotting/cantering horse- they look excited and awesome. Their mane and tail flows, it's a unique position, and they even look just how I like it- slightly cartoony but with a very realistic point of view too. I would really hate to see that go.
As for the new drafts, they're just far too cartoony. I don't really like them.
So basically, I am NOT in favor of changing the linearts- if I could have it my way we would change all the current linearts to equimagine's frolicking horse instead of the vice versa.
✪i rarely use cs nowadays,
✪i'm really not on CS anymore, though i may set up some way to give away my pets since i'm not doing anything with them
✪i'm in college now but was on this site a lot for a few years. had a lot of fun, made friends and art, and i'm thankful for it. it was a good time : )

Maybe the best option, although I'm not sure how doable this would be, would to make it optional to switch the image you see? Like how you can toggle the value bar in your groups? So, if you want the old images, you can see them, or if you want the new images, you can switch to them? Granted, the people who choose to use the older lines still wouldn't be able to use the items, but that would be a personal choice. :3
And because people are so passionate on both sides of the fence about this, everyone can be satisfied and happy with the outcome. :D A good median.
My own two cents. ^-^

I think many designs just wouldn't work/would look too different, as well as that it would erase part of CS as others have said.
I'm not a fan of Equimagine's pony lines, but I especially enjoy the older horses.
I think it's unfair to remove pets just because they aren't popular.
and yes, I see it as removing pets.
It's not just because they aren't popular.
Read the quote from Tess at the bottom of the original post.
I did, the thing is, most of her linearts that look like direct traces are for the newborn stages, which aren't seen much now, except for PPS's
which probably wouldn't be changed.(from what I've heard)
I remember when the site used equi's lineart, I'd be sad to see it go.
If tess had to remove it because of copyright claims it wouldn't be a vote, she'd just do it.So yeah, it is a popularity contest.
Except it's not just the newborns.Being honest about something that happened is not the same as dragging a name through the mud. Clearly there is a lot of misinformation floating around that needs to be made perfectly clear before you let new/younger members make a decision like this.
The lines need to be changed. It's not a matter of what the misinformed members of CS want, it's a matter of what is morally and legally right. Art theft is against the rules on CS, and for good reason. I was really excited to see this come up because this has always been a sore spot in the back of my mind as far as CS is concerned. I thought "yes, they're actually addressing this issue! They're doing something about it! This is great!"
But with all the post deletion going on, and the confusion as to why this is even happening, now I'm just disappointed.
