Katrina was a catagory 5 and Sandy is only a catagory 1. What makes Sandy bad is her size and that there are a lot of low lying areas that are flooding. Plus the fact that it's colliding with a snow storm. Hope every one stays safe.
Wow, really? Then why wasn't Katrina considered a Super storm? No sarcasm intended. I've heard all the peeps on the news saying that this is supposed to be the Storm of the Century.

Just a small word of input from someone who lives near the Cs server, Its not that bad anymore ^^ The wind was positivley horrid last night, but now its pretty okay :3 Well, minus cold and a little rain and wind, Its not that bad and I'm pretty sure the server won't go down, though it's nice to always have the backup Cs ^^ Great thinking Nick

When they say 25 miles per hour that means the distance she has moved across the land. Her wind speeds were 90 miles per hour yesterday which made her a category 1. You want a storm to move fast distance wise. Then it's out of the area quicker. Wind speeds cause damage, not the rate of speed it travels. Well it could affect pushing water a little. Not sure.

I know why it's like this. I'm going to school for Geology. :3
ojamamaster354 wrote:Part of what makes this one such a problem is the fact that it is going in land instead of out to sea like you would expect when it reached to the point that it did. This is do to the addnormal curve in the Gulf stream, this curve that isn't around during the normal Hurricane season is forcing the Hurricane in land and causing major flodding in places that normaly wouldn't be affected, such as New York City. It also doesn't help that this Hurricane is much wider than normal and is moving at a higher speed as well. Sandy wont be doon for a long time all thanks to the Gulf Stream that controls most weather in the upper porsions of the states.

I'm down to one job again but I'm going back to college so I still wont be on much.
