I feel that we should keep the old lines to show how much Cs has grown in their years of success. There's been a lot of improvements with everything, but I don't think this should be one of them (no offense at all to Yulynh the new lines are lovely). Sure there were a lot of different line arts for old lines and the items make it hard to dress them up (I think the only thing is the head positioning really), but wouldn't it be easier to alter items instead of putting one design onto another? I don't know that's just me and these are all opinions. I would like it if the old lines would stay though.

I do believe that one of the mods saying it'd be too much trouble to change all of the linearts to fit all of the horse types. c:

I'm all for it! I mean, I can see how some people are against getting rid of the old linearts, because they are a little bit of the site's younger days, but those new drafts. They're so perf. ;w; Can't wait to see the shiny new lines in action.

The Equimagine versions were originals - I knew, right when I saw them, that those where Equimagine versions, and that unique style and shape was valuable and cool to me. It's like changing Malk Dogs into the most recent Dog templates - it's just not right. The only thing that would identify them would be the date and the rarity (which, honestly, isn't that significant...). Plus, keep in mind all the people who collect those Equimagine horses/ponies! Those poor people could give up those once-special hoards/collections, just because of a template change.

this is being done for a reason .
i think the staff knew most would support this anyways ,
just know there is a reason that makes sense behind this and the users are not fully informed of the reason ,
though there is a great thought and proof .

Honestly,I think those horses are fine just the way they are. It makes them different and it is OK to experiment on items to fit them

Maybe since the designs are Equid's and the lines are Yulynh's, you could add both of their little tag thingies so that Equid isn't forgotten?

A good idea but instead of updating the pictures why not release them as new pets so that way players will want to have the old and new version of the horses?

I don't know about anyone else, but perhaps these would be good middle ground alternatives? No history erasing, but it leaves the marks of history somehow. Either her name is left on them, or we just get something like advent versions of them new and clean. Perhaps the releasing of them on new lines as separate pets would be a better alternative; history is preserved, new changes are made, and it could be fun collecting them all as pairs.

A reminder that this thread isn't the place to debate about art theft. It's about whether or not you would like to see the old horse lines updated to the new horse lines (designs moved, etc), not about dragging an artist through the mud with allegations.

We have already given an explanation as to how the old lines came about so arguing about it is just spam and will be removed from this thread.

Some users say that her lines were traced from photos. equimagine has a longer explanation for how they came about, which in a few words is basically that she referenced for personal use, forgot about it when re-using old personal sketches for CS purposes, and that some connections other users made between photos and her lines were coincidental. Some of her lines closely resemble photographs that she didn't have personal permission to use, which upset many users, and was part of the motivation for retiring her lines in the first place. She maintains that she never intended to use photo-copied linearts for CS and that it was a careless mistake. She did update the lines for a second round but people still mistrusted her and her horses and ponies were not very popular at the time (although apparently have more support these days).

Another problem is that this site is already uniform enough, the same lines (or very similar) are used for every single piece of art from that species. There are some pets that look almost identical because of this and there is hardly any thrill in collecting them. The Equimagine horses look different from that and have a different feel to them, why can we not have different lines for different species? Why must we have everything the same? Allowing different designs allows people with different tastes to all find something that they like. People who have been hoarding Equimagines will now find themselves with a group of horses that they don't like anymore.

i agree. i think some should be gradually re-released in the new line art. maybe as the monthly pets so the artists wouldnt have to recreate and make monthly pets. so teh equimaines could be released again as monthlies so the olds ad news were together
