I'm gonna be honest, I'm really shocked the artists aren't even getting paid in c$ :O I thought they would at least get virtual rewards.

SkywardtheDragon wrote:One of the questions in the application asks if you’ve used any brushes other than the standard program ones. I use them often, so I have some questions:
- Are they allowed at all? Will they penalize your application?
- How do you want us to credit the brushes? Should we link to them or is naming the title + creator sufficient?
- Do we have to mention brushes made by ourselves?

Some third party brushes come with restrictions on their use, such as not being allowed to be used commercially.
You can use third party brushes that are free to use (or purchased with no restrictions, etc) but make sure to explain clearly what you've used and how you applied it to the image. We're more interested in how you hand draw markings on the pet vs using stamp brushes. If you're using a brush you created on your own then mentioning that is fine!

Hey! I assume so, but just to be sure - do we need to use all the colors in the palette we choose in each design?

Artists receive C$ compensation. From here:

Simon wrote:
To clear up any misconceptions, CS artist is a volunteer position to allow artists freedom to create when they are able/want to. There is no regular salary/wage, and therefore the position is considered unpaid. Artists receive compensation in C$ when their free pets and items are released. Store pets and items are subject to additional agreements and compensation.

Simon wrote:
Chicken Smoothie isn't a large profit driven company, and our volunteer staff aren't employees. We are a group of individuals with a shared passion for art/adoptables/etc. who take time out of our every days lives to help create content and run this website. We historically didn't disclose information about C$ compensation because we didn't want that to be the focus of applications (as it is site currency, we still consider this a volunteer position). Non-admin staff are not at liberty to discuss details of compensation, so their answers may have appeared vague. All information about a particular CS role is shared with staff when they are hired.

To further clarify, store pets and item sets are fairly compensated beyond C$.

No, you do not have to use every color.

I am trying to submit an application but keep getting: "413 Request Entity Too Large" Is this because of the psd files?

Trying to submit files one by one in the edit and I've only been able to submit one example. Some of he files wouldn't work, it's okay though, I got some to work

You can submit as a PNG file or PSD file so feel free to save it as a PNG if your PSD is too big!

Is it ok to recolor the sclera of pets in the artist application template? Or should we keep it white?
Someone already asked this, but they didn't receive an answer

I checked with Simon and he said it's okay to edit the coloring/design inside the eyes, but the focus of the judging will be on the pet design/working with the palette.

Hello! I got another quick question. When someone sends in an application, is it permanently stored somewhere where they can be views by staff over and over or anytime staff applications are opened? Or or do users have to resend in applications everttime there's an opening?
