You implied we should keep the inaccurate trading tags just to keep newer players interested. The new system is more fair.

The motto of this site has never been to collect every pet so why would this change alienate new players? I can’t trade 2010 rares/very rares for 2008-09 pets so I don’t see how this is any different. I didn’t quit just because people weren’t trading me older pets.

There are plenty of new pets that are just as great as old pets that they can trade for. If rarity is important to new players they can participate in events, watch for the pound to open, and work towards trading for new store pets. Plus every December 18th we get a chance at getting older rares to trade.

Pets in circulation is much more important than value. Value can change and varies from player to player. If someone loves chickens and wants to trade their rare dog for a rare chicken then that’s determined by them not the community.

Agreed with all this! I will also add that if you have some artistic ability that there are art contests where folks often have rares and even lists as prizes, many even offer rares just for submitting something.

There are also people frequently quitting or offering their extras (often older uncommons, which you can use to work your way up to rares) for free in the free adoptions forum, so there's always a way. <3

oh my goodness I just went through all my pets and my rares group practically doubled in size (almost 600 omg)

I was wondering why the pet I just got from the pound viewpet.php?id=265805364 is very common, that explains it! I love it, i'm sure it will make trading and categorizing and other stuff much easier. I'm exited to look through my pets and see their new ratings.

It's so nice to look through my pets and see all the colours now! Rather than everything just being green, we've got a lot more colours again and it's really nice to see.

I really like the update, so much more variety and I gained a bunch of new OMGSR's from this!!

Also I had a discontinued old hoard in my trading groups, the ice cream ponies from 2011 July, who all turned rare. Suddenly my very tiny rares trade group got ~250 new rares in them thanks to this!

You can say that again. I just spent the past several hours fixing my duplicates groups.

I really wish CS had better and more sorting options; it'd be nice if you could choose to sort within groups themselves, then I could have just changed the groups to be sorted by rarity instead of chronologically, changed the number of pets per page to be higher, and then transferred them page by page into the desired groups instead of having to manually pick through every page to ensure over five and half thousand individual pets were all in the groups they're supposed to be in, and even now I can't say for sure that I didn't make any mistakes.
