also , i really don't like how people are saying we shouldn't deface Equi by doing this . i think this would be much better than the original line arts . it is weird to have several line arts of horses which have horse like creatures as well . if we did this , there would only be five lines . the unicorn , donkey , [ unless they use the pony donkey ] the pony , draft , and normal horse line art , which would perhaps make it much easier on the staff while creating items , because they would not have to use the new items and covert them to older line art , which would be somewhat dumb in my eyes , because that is going reverse . i think that we should remove Equi's line art , not because I have anything against her , but it has been proven to be traced and that is not so called unique , removing the lineart would depromote art theft ! just think about it . the only history this is removing is art theft history . also , the artist have actually spent time on a new line art for the drafts , which is beautiful .

I 100% support this, I do not like the equimagine lines, for multiple reasons. Actually, I put all my equimagine horses in my trade folder. The only thing I would miss are the PPS ponies (like the dice PPS) because they are too adorable. :c But yeah other than that i really hope that this happens. Especially the new draft lineart wow. c:

While it is true these are a part of the history of CS, other pet sites constantly go through lineart revamps. I personally think that change is good. In my opinion equimagine lines were never a good part of CS history anyways considering the fact that they were pretty much traced, and there was a bit of drama surrounding that I suppose. Even if you prefer to say they weren't traced or copied or an example of art theft (which I absoluetely disagree with but whatever), there remains the fact that this did cause a bit of conflict and maybe it's best to just move on and update. It really doesn't really reflect well on the site that we still have these old traced lines, and in my opinion it's in CS's best interest to change them.

One bummer about this is that I traded away some of my rares from the equimagine collection because of my distaste for the lines (and the fact that some of the designs were applied in a pretty amateur way) so if this happened, I wouldn't have those anymore. Also I would have to go through all my pages in my trades folder to fish out the horses I need again for my collection oops. I'm still in favor of the change, but it's a bit unfair for the people who didn't collect them or traded them off because of the lines. Obviously there's nothing to do so it's more of a minor annoyance on my part.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot about the fact the Malk had her lineart changed once too. So this isn't the first time.
Also, it would be nice if staff members actually addressed the equimagine tracing issue instead of skirting around it.

Yes from me. Too be honest, I never liked equimagines linearts :s Partially because I don't like horses in general, but they just didn't agree with me. The similarities to the photos turn me away as well, but not as much as me just not liking the lineart.
Yulynh's linearts I like though. I even have some of the ponies in a favourites group. I can already see myself liking some of the designs when/if they're put on the Yulynh lines (that wave pony yes)

If we're supposed to be "preserving CS history" we already ruined that with the updated Malk lines. Obviously it's happened once where we updated lines, this time it's just to someone else's lines instead of the same artist. I don't see the big deal honestly :s

I agree with everything you said there, Never&Rush. The Equimagine part of CS history is never going to go away, even if we aren't actively using her linearts. It will always be a part of us as a site, and I imagine the old images will remain in the archive in some form. But this could be a step in the right direction for CS. Change can be uncomfortable for some users--personally, it freaked me out when the rarity bars changed--but after people get used to it I think we will all be better off. The new linearts are more uniform and (in my opinion) more anatomically accurate and well-drawn. I sincerely hope this change goes through.

As I said once before. For those users who were around back when Malk had their old linearts, the change to the new ones was uncomfortable at first. People were upset because their pets had changed. But looking back, it was a good change. And people got over it.

I really hope the new change happens, the designs will look so much better, cleaner and clearer on these lines! I also hoard certain horses and love to dress them up in horse tack and such! ;w;

I was just about to write about this whole "CS History" argument, but I see You were faster. Exactly what I wanted to write, so of course I agree with this in 200% =) CS isn't a country, we don't need to preserve history, putting the old horses/ponies in Archive would be enough.

Yes, I really do like the new proposed linearts, like most of you. But I also really like the original '09 ones. I would like to have them both xD And I really don't like the redrawn Equimagines, the ones she did in early '10. And I also support the "change is always good" argument. But all points raised in my earlier post still stand.

As for art theft... well, if it is really pure art theft and there is absolutely no question about it, then I can't argue with the disappearance of those lines, no matter how much I like them, and no matter how much I find my earlier points valid. art theft is art theft, even if the result is very pretty and awakens emotions within you it is still /theft/.

In my opinion I prefer to keep the old ones, for variety's sake. It would be much more fun if you redid them, but released them while keeping the old ones. If that makes sense?

I really like the old linearts and I wouldn't like to see them change. I think the older linearts are unique and we'll never have them like that again, so why change it?

i dislike this very much.
truthfully, i've never liked the linearts (no offense Yulynh, the art is lovely but i simply don't favor them) of the current ponies and much prefer the old versions. the horses are lovely and equimagine did a splendid job- they are one of my favorite pets on CS. i greatly dislike this change because it is unnecessary and will just make me dislike the equines on CS even more as adoptables.
anyways, i truthfully do not find the draft horse lineart needing an update anyways... it's not like they're adopted out nowadays
