Reminder about Oekaki [Updated]

Just a random question...
I'm new here, and I've made a few images myself, you know, just on GIMP etc, but as the oekaki board won't let you upload them to it... Where can I post them? Sorry for noobishness.

I have a problem.

I can't draw on bottom half of the area on oekaki. When I try, there appears white box-thigies over my drawing. I don't mean now those boxes where tools etc can be chosen, but last time I drew I took a screenshot: Link
If I wave my cursor few times over those boxes they disappear, but very annoying to draw this way. And they come back every time I try to draw there.

I'm stuck. How come when you use the eraser it's just comes out in this weird checker- board style patten???
