Fennec Foxes - update for the 2009/2010 Shima Fennecs

Sad to see the old line-art go as I LOVED the big fluffy tails, and I forgot to screenshot the old linearts before they were gone, but I understand why it was done so...

Though I feel the Birthday Tag should still be on the blue one? It doesn't seem right for it to be gone.

Same. This is rather upsetting to me as well. I don't mind the update and I know it has to be done, but I don't see why it had to be removed.



That's the original design.

It makes it not the same design. It's a similar or based on design, but the birthday logo made it as unique as anything else. Now it's just 'that rare blue fox'. It's not 'The blue shima fox' anymore and it's not the 'Shima Birthday Fox' anymore. There is absolutely nothing to mark out that it was ever special to begin with. I think this is the first time you guys haven't translated a design correctly.

I've never really had a problem with any of the other translations, in some cases the designs worked better on the new lines actually, but this one sticks in my craw. The pet is incomplete at best and ruined at worst. Was there a reason the graphic couldn't be translated? I realize without the brush used to make it it would have been a pain to hand recreate...was that the reason it was left off? Because it would have taken too long to freehand? Or was the brush also copyrighted? In either case, couldn't the happy birthday have still been written in?

I think they removed it was so items could fit on it better. Or that they couldn't replicate it well. Whatever the reason, I still think it's beautiful.

She does seem a bit incomplete without her background.
Like I said though, I love that they can be dressed much more easily now.

The one thing I dislike about the new foxes is the missing birthday sign. Why was it removed?

the cs staff has been able to make extremely complicated line edits, designs, etc., why cant they replicate that?

There are plenty of other special designs that items are a pain to fit on. They make special designs items have a hard time fitting on yearly. It makes no sense to leave off a part of this design for the sake of items.

Looks like they updated the growing stages for the Valentine's Day foxes, too... interesting... however, they didn't do anything with the birthday fox's growing stage.

Can we please get an official explanation on why the Birthday Shima fox was stripped of what made it so special? I really see no reason for why it was left out.

That's because the original line art problem was with the stage two lineart. The birthday foxes's growing stage lineart didn't need to be changed because the box is a known not copyrighted lineart.
