Big Rarity Update - read for details!

Aah, I'm so glad I wasn't able to trade off my toxic rat now. Time to sit and wait while the list gets reorganized.

Also, I'm so happy to see the new amount of OMGSR'S, especially the ur bun.

On a smaller note, a lot of the pps lions got changed to rares, like the snow leopard pps and the fairy one, which is well desrrved imo.

The reality is that these updates haven't actually changed the rarities at all, and it's only become a way to make trading more honest to the true value of that pet.

People will be upset of course on both sides - people who had a bunch of 2013-14 Uncommons which would have become Commons or less (as they should be), and people who can no longer rip off inexperienced players quite as easily. But I think for the vast majority of players, this update is a really great thing.

Now the only thing we need are rarity values on items, and the system will have overall become quite transparent.

wow this helps me a much! As someone who has playing since 2013 more or less, I have many older pets, so many of those became rarer!! I've been very inactive for the past year but now im more inclined to continue playing!

Seriously? I've so far only seen pets from 2014 go up and there weren't even a lot of those. Granted my 2013 trade group is super small these days since those pets were so useless because of the duplicate-account fiasco of 2013 so I gave away a ton of them over the last several years. But yeah, everything from 2015 on seems to have gone down for me. Always possible I'm just super unlucky of course.

Yeah when I say "older" I mean 2010,2011 and 2012 pets that back in 2013-14 I could get by trading pretty easily. Most of my 2013 pets stayed more or less the same.

Agreed. Rarity is assined by how many pets are on active accounts. If pets dropped in rarity it’s because they are actually more common and deserve the rarity change. Its not like the staff hand picked what each pet’s rarity changed to. It’s more unfair to trade a more common pet for something someone collected and hung on to for 5+ years.

I’m so grateful for this change as an older, but more casual player. There was a point I got heavily into trading and learned all the nuiasances, but I honestly stopped because of the complexity. I find that this will make things a lot more straight forward. I’m willing to be ok with the remainder of my wishlist/what’s missing from having complete collection get rated up in rarity (exclusively very rare and omgsr) because that’s where they should have been all along and I knew their value. So my goal isn’t any harder, just more transparent which makes me feel better about acquiring those pets from newer users.

One pleasant surprise is the increased rarity of the lesser “valued” pets. Due to the lack of interest (I love all linearts equally) by a portion of the user base, horses, ponies, and rats have some ‘added’ value now.

Oh I'm so happy for this. Now so many of my store pets are omgsorares. Other than around 2010 and older store pets, where there any that became omgsorare?

Its kindof nice to see all the pets aren't common or uncommon and it will be easier for figuring out fair trades. Its also cool that more of the 2008 pets are OMGSR because I would be lying if I didn't say I was happy that one of my rats has become my first OMGSR, more love to the rats.

Ah christ I'm going to have to temporarily stop trading until I can reshuffle groups and reprice everything. Hope this change makes everything much more fair in the end though! It's also hilarious to see all these rats getting the rarity bump Happy for those that collect them
