I imagine it would be something like this. Some people aren't keen on the Yulyhn pony lines for the PPSes for various reasons (such as the different angle would really detract from some designs that are meant for a side view), so there could be an option for different lines made specifically for them. Just a guess at this point, but it's a possibility. :3

The old items will be updated to fit the new horses, so once they're updated they'll change automatically to the correct version when put on the Yulyhn lines, but I'm not sure if the default equimagine versions would remain for other non-horse pets. That's certainly a good point about how those items might be getting used on the non-horse pets though. The equimagine versions would still be in the system, so perhaps the item updates would be tagged to change to the new versions on horses while the default setting remains as the original equi versions (hence appearing the same as ever on any non-horse pet).
