Here is what i think we should do. We should ask Equine to redraw her horses, that way they get changed a little bit but its still from the same artist and not get changed completely and have her patterns taken and put on someone eles horse and she not get any of the credit.... thats what i think would work a little better...

she traced /some/ lines, at the very least.
she gave her lines to tess to do what tess wanted with.
and the staff are making it easier on themselves by just transferring the designs to new linearts, if you've read the first post.

She's gone and doesn't want anything to do with CS (and I personally would not want someone who is proven to have traced to be doing yet another set of lines), so that suggestion is a lost cause.

If she was capable of freehanding some of the linearts, why would she trace the others? Using this simple logic it's easy to see that there's little chance of those linearts being legitimate.

And while you're saying it's wrong to convince people using the overlays you personally aren't convinced by, I personally think it's wrong to constantly defend her obvious theft. You're a moderator. You're supposed to be against art theft and things that break cs's rules.

I question the morality of a site that 'hires' mod(s) who turn a blind eye to obvious theft, and go so far as to convince others that the images aren't stolen.

I've never said there wasn't tracing/referencing/freehanding/what-have-you of any of the lines, only that those particular photos are almost certainly not correct and were very likely not traced. If people are using that as their basis for deciding (as opposed to the foal lines), they are being misinformed. Part of being a mod is also making decisions on whether something was copied or not. If any member was accused of art theft based on those adult overlays, I would not accept that as reasonable evidence because there are many other photos equally similar.

then /why/ was eqi forced to retire? and why was it hushed up so much?
you should never defend someone who could have been an art theft, regardless of whether they did it or not. even tess agrees about it, to an extent.

as far as I know she wasn't forced she quit voluntarily

That's a PPS HORSE. I do think there should be new PPS horse lines like this one, a bucking foal. Those are very unique PPS pets, and I think they are cute bucking. ^^"

I think that the statement from Tess would include the PPS horses too if people were concerned about it lol

Atwood does have a point, Calix. Though the images might look similar in many ways, there's no way to know for sure. We can't blame Equi for disrespecting the law if there isn't 100% proof.
Also, it's not too hard to find a horse in a certain position. Heck, just look up "horse standing" on Google Images and I'm sure you can find plenty of images that match up to Equi's horses {just a tad bit, maybe in the legs or head, etc.}. This is because it's a natural horse stance. For example, many horses lay down in the same position that Equimagine's laying down PPS did. This is true for other linearts.
I'm not saying that Equi didn't copy lines, I'm just saying you can't assume that she copied a certain picture just because they look a tad bit similar.
And I suggest not to disrespect Atwood. She's a moderator and she was chosen as one because she understands the site well. And I think she has a good point.

We have noticed that it seems like the main concerns so far are about a few favorite pets like the PPS PONIES and the rainbow mane changing. If the opinion remains divided then we may re-vote with new conditions such as keeping the PPS ponies and have special line edits for things like the rainbow mane horse so that it still looks good on the new lines.
