Community opinion needed! UR Items, yay? or nah!

As someone who doesn’t care much about items, I thought the UR items was a fun concept. It was exciting to think you might have a chance at one.

I Just Had The Idea of an 'OMGSR Tag' item, Just a Rainbow bar you can slap on your favorite Common to make It *Special*
I would want that so much.

I am for yay more UR items, but i also Like having Doubles of my favourite items and i am struggling with The Limited Store items already

I love the idea of UR items! I agree with others that in the future having a (Special Release) tag in the name, and possibly a watermark somewhere on the item itself, would help to make the rarity difference as obvious as possible. I honestly think genuinely unused items getting this treatment would be interesting, but I'm not opposed to unique special items being given out either. Distributing more UR items than UR pets might also help with the disparity between the two.

I dont LIKE UR items as a concept, purely because I suck at item trading. HOWEVER, I think its high time items were assigned rarities so people who get them don't get ripped off. It's already a heinous task trying to find items in the item archive - it's not like looking for pets who have their year written below them, even items in your inventory, there's no year cut off for where items are. Okay, some sets have years to distinguish them, but I don't think it's useful enough.

SO, if UR items DO continue to be a thing, and I do think they should even if I don't like them, can we pretty please have a rarity system for items. PLEASE?

I know its been refused multiple times, but I don't think that's helpful. Otherwise, a search function in the item archive would be good - unlike pets, items are released with names, if we could at least FIND where an item comes from, people would be more informed of their worth. I know we have the filter, but that's going the long way around. Simplify!

In my opinion the item trading should be made clearer or even revamped before implementing UR items to the pool. Give all items rarities like pets and also show the date the item was optained. Strengthen the foundation before building a house kind of.
I personally find the idea of UR pets already very frustrating and having the same frustration with items plus the additional stress of not knowing the worth of things makes me honestly very concerbed.

Another thought I have however, is what if the UR items would not be implemented as extremely rare but more common? It would negate some of my concerns and open the possibility for people to have multiple of one item to use in different dress ups. I feel unlike pets, items are more universal in use and should maybe be available in higher quantity.

I'm not opposed to UR Items but we desperately need a way to easily identify them first.

Ninja trading and scamming are common enough you have to warn people each December about that, it's going to be a mess if we include items as they are right now.

If there is no way to update the item collection and at least display a special message for UR in your inventory, I'm against them coming back.

I'm not asking for a rarity bar, the subject has already been discussed, but at least a rainbow star or something above the name.

personally, i don’t use items and i am not up to date on item values. i think that re releasing items is a really cool idea for those who collect items, and kind of put some more into circulation like they do with the dec 18 pets. i’m indifferent as if i were to receive a ur item, i’d likely trade it away. however i do think item trading is so difficult since it’s hard to determine rarity and fairness due to how little information there is to go off for many items.

I think re releasing items is good but personally I don’t like the idea of ur items. Items to me are just dress up things, I have never felt any need for a rare item, even the ones on site already

Also, the items we already have don’t have rarities, but also if you get a wl item it doesn’t show up like a wl pet does at the top of your list, I think that needs to be fixed before anything else happened with items in general tbh and has been needed for a long time.

I don’t think releasing ur items is the grandest idea, but if it were done right, I don’t think it would be absolutely terrible either.

Trading in December is wild and crazy every year, with flash trading and users trying to scam those who are new(er) and don’t know or understand what they are currently holding.
I feel as though these ur items are just going to be another quick and easy way for users to try and swipe them away from the less knowledgeable.

If ur items were to be implemented again this year, I agree with what other users are saying, about the watermark/rarity tag, etc. I know on an item, slapping a rarity tag may see a little ridiculous but if you could add a form of water mark like ie. ur or sr or even omgsr, like you do with the store pets with their water mark of c$, just so they’re easier to distinguish.

If there’s a known watermark on these ur items, scammers can’t lie or “play dumb” about not knowing an items worth when it’s plain and clear in the watermark that it’s worth quite a lot. Which would hopefully give the new(er) and less knowledge users a moment to realize or even ask for help rather than blindly accepting an unfair trade.

I vote no simply because I don't think we need more new super rare hard to get stuff on the site. There are already years worth of super rare hard to get stuff, please no more, it's exhausting. If I could, I'd vote against releasing more UR pets too. The fruit/unique URs are fun but they don't need to be super rare hard to get pets, just release them as normal event rares whenever fitting.

But also about identifying the UR items, why not just make an "UR" category in the dress-up menu thingy?
Not as good as item rarities would be but it'd at least be something.
