Sorry you all seem to have taken this way beyond what I ever thought it would be. I know I do not know everything about drafts but seeing as they are one of my favorite breeds, I do know a lot. I honestly dont think they should use the new draft lines, I have seen more people saying things look out of proportion on it than I have seen people saying they like it. And if you have been watching this thread you will realize that there is quite a few that do like the new lines.

But I guess I'm not really a horse person so I can't say much towards that ^^;
It's cute, just the legs. I don't think they look smooth enough I guess?
The legs, the tail, the head, the body....I have heard a lot of people say it looks funny....I think they should maybe try a new position for the draft..
I'm having a hard time understanding you.
You state your opinion rudely by acting like everyone else is an idiot, and then you apologize.
That would be okay if after apologizing you didn't continue to state your opinion in a rude way.
I don't know if it's just me but what i'm getting from you is that you are being cocky.

That's the thing, there is no typical draft horse! There are many, many kinds of drafts, and the hard workers are all very muscled and thick.
I think people are saying things look out of proportion because they are not used to a real, heavy draft. If we showed more picture examples, I believe people would open up to the lines a lot more. People who don't know about horses may only know Shires or something as a draft, and Shires are one of the less stocky, more elegant breeds. That's why I think people see the anatomy as off, they simply aren't used to it.

No, they should not look like they are on steroids. But they should look sturdy and well muscled, which, if anything, Yulynh actually pulls off a bit better than Equi managed to. Drafts have short, thick legs and large bodies. That's where all that muscle that goes into pulling carts/plows comes from. I know a lot about drafts as well, and i know how they need to be built to properly do their jobs. The yulynh draft is a very good respresentative of a
working draft horse.
What's odd is that I've seen the opposite- most of the responses I've seen to the draft lines have been favorable.

I gave you the option of an anatomical comparison with a real draft horse, but I don't think you wanted one?
Anyway, Shutterstock is already thinking of legal action.
Whoa, where did you hear that?

wibeke wrote:Keep in mind that you are not the only person on here that is familiar with horses, draft horses in particular. You are not the only one who has seen a draft horse, and if you are familiar with this type of breed you will understand that there is not just one type of draft.
There are a HUGE variety of draft horse breeds, all bred for different purposes. The horses you see in parades and budweiser commercials are very different horses from the drafts you'll see, say, working on a farm.
To me, Equi's horses look more like carriage horses. Horses built to pull wagons are usually MASSIVE, long-legged horses. They're built to be strong, but they're also bred for looks. These horses usually look like normal horses, but larger and more muscular.

Yulynh's are much closer to working-type drafts. They're stocky, THICK, and friendly looking. These horses are specifically bred to be good natured (an animal that can pull this much weight better respect you, or you're doomed) and strong. They look like big horses that were squished down. They very thick, powerful animals.

Yulynh's linearts definitely reflect this, right down the the determined, friendly look on their faces.
Personally, I'm a huge fan of this lineart and think it represents a draft horse perfectly. Just not the draft horse you have in mind.
I'm just going to quote this because it was well-written, correct and it should have ended all arguments.

I do not like this idea because you are changing an artists work. I love equines horse and hoard them when I have the chance to get them. Since those art lines aren't being use anymore, it goes into the archives and just show the history and it also shows the person that took them time out to make the lines and designs.

Am I the only one who's really annoyed about all the huge banners and stuff in signatures saying "VOTE THIS ON THE ETP OR I'LL QUIT!!! WOULD YOU CHANGE THIS FACE?!?!? WHAT DID I EVER DO WRONG TO MAKE YOU CHANGE ME?!?!"
I'm so so annoyed about all that guilt tripping, I hope the decision will be made soon..
INACTIVE!
See my profile if you'd like to contact me.
I finally quit CS, haha!

however, the lines were created by tracing pictures and since they were not personal pics, it is considered art theft. This could mean trouble for cs if not changes. searching through the thread will provide you with references
