That's different. The owners said as long as they no longer were called by the characters/books names it was fine - they can't claim cat designs when the franchise is a book with no visuals, and neither can the dragons (forget the series) when all they are are pretty much generic designs.
In this case it's tracing - totally different.
I respectfully disagree of a difference...yes the individual issue is obviously different but the issue at hand is the same....changing the past and recreating what has already been created. Everyone can have their opinion on how wrong or right something is but altering the past remains altering the past =)
