To have a funky Nick horse is something to brag about! Look how the designs have changed over the years! Wow! I personally adore the fact that I can see the progression of artwork over time. I LOVE the old drafts over the new ones and the foals from the early days are so flippin' cute!!! The ones kicking and bucking, the sleepers, the panda drafts!... aaaawwwwdorable! I honestly wish some of the old line art would be brought back to change up the monotony of shape and style.
I can see that a lot of CS users don't mind either way but I would much rather have an eclectic collection of horses and ponies in various stances and styles than have 500 of the same thing in different colors. I gladly forfeit the ability to "fit" an item if it means losing my variety of line art, and besides it just means I'll have to be more clever with item placement.
...not to be rude, but why are you talking about the site in 'the early days' if you joined in 2012?
I know this wasn't protruded at me, so I'm sorry for intruding. But hey, I joined like three days ago, and I was able to catch on pretty fast from other areas around the form that this isn't how the community is supposed to be, or usually is.
Just, I mean no offense at all to either of you. I'm just not a fan of the "your accounts pretty young" debacle.
It's not that hard to find that the community is pretty angry about the change, and I'm not trying to speak for you Goddess, but perhaps when you first joined the waters were a lot calmer?
could not agree more ....look how technology has changed since CS started..I am an old fashioned sit down and draw artist myself but I am in awe of what can be done with photoshop, gimp, etc I am not a fan of changing someones art because it is not your taste...that to me seems in its essence to be wrong....don't collect it, don't support it, don't reproduce it but alter it....no way can that be justified in my mind!Goddess_Sophia wrote:Calix wrote:Goddess_Sophia wrote:I'm voting noon the change for one simple reason... Because I wish I had joined earlier. I love looking at the old stuff, wish I had some of those pets.
And to respond to another statement about copyright and theft... I don't know the history of the artists or the struggles that may be going on in the background and learning more about it isn't going to change my opinion of the art and why I would like it to retain its original status. Don't forget that when announcement of the idea was made the only reason listed as to "why" was because they wanted items to fit. 350 pages later however and the original message seems completely lost!

I didn't mean it like that- just one of her main points was that being there in the earlier days and watching CS grow is part of what made Equi's lines special, and yet she wasn't there for it. That's all; I was just confused by what she meant. ^^

The way it is now, people can choose and if they do not like a particular line art they don't have to get it. If we change things, then everyone must have the same lineart, there will be no room for choice.
