I don't think Tess would have left it up to voting if she really believed it is such a big deal like lots of people are making it out to be, I'm sure the person who took the photos would give two craps, people keep stressing on the fact that they "are traced" the issue needs to be brought back to the fact that she said she wishes to do this for "uniformity" of the lines. Go back and read, that's the main reason she wants to do this. Tess would have already removed the lines if she felt it was so bad. She doesn't have problems with telling us the truth, this was already delt with when it happened the first time. I don't think she "traced" people can call be ignorant but I really don't care, Equimagine is not making money off this, and I really just want to find the photographer and talk to them to really ask what they think.I really don't think they would care.

I still appreciate her work, I still love her lines, and in many cases, especially with her pony and foal lines, like her style better. If I was an artist I personally would want no part in switch over someone else's designs onto my lines, no matter if CS owns them. But I guess CS will do what they want. I love the diversity of CS and will miss these lines.

et's put you in Tess's shoes. You're the admin of a site. You've ignored the fact that some of your profitable site's images are stolen and have been used for years and nothing has been done. but you don't want to drag Equimagine's name through the mud because she made a mistake. What do?
You make an excuse. "It's for uniformity!" A valid concept. It's an easy way to avert a problem.

Why is Tess the final authority on what's right and wrong? She is capable of being wrong you know. It's not super important that the photographers are upset (even though, remember, one of them is a stock photo you have to pay for) it's the principle of the thing.

when it comes down to it, it doesn't matter what tess thinks, how she's handling the situation, or even if equi really DID trace. if any sort of report is filed to the DMCA, we'll just be left with nothing at all in place of the pets.

You can't be serious? Have you read some of these posts? Equimagines name, has been totally ripped to shreds for lack of a better explanation. I also know everyone can be right and wrong , I'm fully capable of understanding that thanks. I never said she was the be end and the end all, but this is HER website, if she was really that worried she would have just taken them down when it happened, or she would just take them down now without asking us. I personally think that it's over and done with, nothing anybody here can change that for me. It happened and if the photographers really wanted to make a big deal out of it, or if they where to have found out, itd be delt with as harshly as everyone's claiming, already. The fact is, I don't yell at my dog a day later about something stupiy done, because it will only confuse him and make matters worse. That's the way I see things here, it happened, she got yelled at and punished for it (read Tess post of the front, nobody "trusted" her) and I think if the people even wanted to press charges it would cost them more money then to just have them sit. And really the level of "art theft" I see going on her for me anyways, I don't actually consider art theft. Sorry I'm on my phone it's really hard to type.

Yeah but not by Tess. And people still support her. Had Tess herself done people would have been out for blood. Besides, mods were deleting any mention of Equimagine's tracing for awhile before they gave up, I suspect that the intention was the same as always, not to let it be mentioned, but we wouldn't shut up.

I really don't care what you consider art theft. You obviously don't understand how a DMCA report works and I certainly hope they file one.
The stock site certainly will. That's how they make their revenue- when people edit out the watermark or trace or copy it it's illegal. We have directly stolen from them at least because we ripped profit from them and they have every right to press charges and they likely will. Stock sites take digital theft very seriously.

but if you want to compare Equimagine to a dog please by all means, be that guy.

Still not done catching up (roughly 10 more pages to go), but:

1) "Why now, after all this time?"
I think the concept of "better late than never" applies; I use it very often in real life and on other sites and even on CS (I once apologixed to someone for being immature two years previously on another site, since I felt horrible for causing so much trouble), so I honestly wouldn't be surprised if that was the case here. Dunno if others would be surprised. -shrug-


2) There's a difference between being blunt and being rude ^^; unfortunately, it's hard to tell the difference online, but it is there (at least, I can see distinct differences) and that can cause arguments, however subtle those differences are. And I'm seeing more rude posts than blunt posts and that makes me very, very sad. (I would say that I'm a sad panda, but I'm honestly not sure how that saying works and I don't want to mistakenly imply something untrue xD)


3) Guilt trips and emotional appeal work in real life. Unfortunately, they don't carry over exactly the same online, so those points are often quickly rendered invalid by the opposing side.


4) From what I've been seeing, most posts aren't "deleted"--they're moved to the staff forum I've tried to quote a deleted post in another thread as a test (I posted, quoted it in a new tab, deleted my own post, then tried to post), and it gave me an error alongthe lines of 'The requested post does not exist.' and I've attempted to quote several now-gone posts in this thread, and it gives me an error along the lines of 'You are not authorized to access this forum.' So to be honest, posts that say "omg why was my post deleted :U" make me giggle xD

Guys, it's getting a bit out of hand now. No matter what we think, we haven't heard those statements directly from our admin or staff, it doesn't feel very polite to put words in their mouth. It's starting to feel a lot like circulating rumors, and the people who posted those were told to not encourage them.

I think we can be mature enough to know when arguments are getting out of hand and stop before it escalates.
