I just think eliminating the lineart, even if it is supossedly traced (which, but the way, the artist assures us it wasn't), seems like an extra slap in the face for our previous designer. We've already had a big scandal about the lineart and decided to let it stay... why add to the shame of having a 'traced' lineart by eliminating it after approving its keeping? CS is a place where we are supossed to expect and accept mix ups and the past and all that; besides, the older linearts do have more personality... and frankly I do not like the new draft horse lines... or the pony, or the horses either.

Might I suggest a tick button on each persons user page? We could opt in or out to having the linearts changed for each of our profiles... the horses would appear with whatever lineart we prefer... if that could be coded?

I think an option button would be awsome! Then there wouldn't be so many stupid fights and arguments over new lines and all that stuff.

I'm completely for this. Absolutely, 100%.
I never liked equi's lines and I thought her designs were sloppy half the time.
Just look at the samples, they look way better!
Not even going to start on the tracing thing, I was around when that all went down in the beginning :

I agree with you 100%. I never really likes Equines lines either and I think the new lines look sooo much better. I just wish people would stop arguing as much as they are on this thread and being difficult about it. It really doesn't need to be this hard.

The cob lines might work, too, or possibly just using a similar mane edit to give the same feel, although that would still interfere with some items.

But this wouldn't solve the issue.
In fact, it would just make an assload of work.

A) Lines still have to be re-coloured
B) Nick has to create coding or whatever that can do that
C) Organisation issue not fixed
D) Theft issue not fixed

Oh God, just imagine everyone's reaction if they woke up one day and all the horses suddenly turned into Nick horses. I think I would die.

As much as i want to say that having an option to change the lines would be a good idea, I still think allowing people to keep the old lines would completely go against the intent of the project. The idea is to eliminate the traced lines and add consistency within the regular horse adopts. Allowing people who dislike it to just switch back would mean that the old lines would still be in circulation, which just dances around the issue rather than confronting it.

Can we stop arguing and try to come up with a compromise? Yes it's stolen. It's a crime. Yes. Equine has quit two years ago. Just come up with a compromise to show to Tess, so there is no fuss about yes or no.


Some ideas:
Keeping the body and head of the current LA but making a different tail and main, maybe position.
The button idea
Just going for a change and having the original designs set in their own archive.
