What date did you register as a CS member?:Feb 02, 2009
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying):338, but if I receive this responsibility I will surely be doubling that number in no time.
How many days a week do you usually visit CS?Everyday.
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?1-2 hours on weekdays, and 4-6 hours on weekends, sometimes more. My school/work schedules have changed recently, so weekdays I can be on for up to 4 hours. Weekends I may be on up to 5-7 hours (typically I multitask during those spans with other sites I am working on though, so they are not solid hours).
Have you moderated on any other forums before?I have moderated on two tutoring websites for my high school but cannot link to them because they are taken down each year. I currently am going to be a moderator for
ParrotStix once it is open to the public. I manage my dad's business website. I am the creator, administrator, and a moderator of a growing site for my youth group.
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?Yes, I enjoy the program and am knowledgeable enough to offer tips/advice about it.
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? This is the first thing I do when visiting CS. I love admiring the range of talents this site has displayed.
Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?I am a natural leader and love responsibility. I set high goals for myself and work my hardest to achieve them, especially if they affect others or the world around me. I can fully commit and accomplish any task I set my mind to. I dedicate myself to making sure people are working well together and are pleased with how things are being done that affect them. I try my hardest to make sure everyone feels welcome and supported. I enjoy building others up and quietly and quickly try to resolve conflicts. I understand that other have different view and opinions and respect them all. I try to give everyone a chance to explain their actions or a second chance, unless the act was so immense that they leave me with little choice but to refer them to a higher authority. I have little tolerance for bullies, cheaters, thieves, and liars. I can handle immaturity and can diffuse touchy situations well. I can maturely accept consequences of any degree but do not expect everyone else to be the same. I cannot be insulted easily and even then approach the situation carefully. I make sure I am confident, patient, understanding, and calm before I react to anything. I evaluate everything I do (and type) to make sure I am being clear, unbiased, and fair as much as I can. I offer advice often and welcome criticism; I am slow to anger and to judge. I rarely hold a grudge. I aim to give no person a reason to distrust me. I never neglect my values and strive for peace. I value friendship, loyalty, honesty, and patience. I appreciate all talents, styles, and opinions. I am extremely organized and work to achieve order. I do not mind doing hard work on small tasks. I am focused but not narrow-minded or excessively stubborn. I am open to suggestions, welcome advice from others, and seek approval from those in charge before doing anything I am unsure of if it may go against the set rules, conditions, etc. If confronted with anything I am unsure of how to handle, I will research the situation, look into all sides of the story, and ask a respectable person whom I trust for their advice. If I believe that, for some reason, I cannot remain impartial in something, I will willingly let another moderator handle it. I can recognize most art theft and will continue to keep an eye on possible repeat-offenders. I want to keep the boards clean and safe for all ages. My top priorities as an oekaki moderator would be to preserve peace, maintain order, keep an open mind, help others as much as I can, and to treat every member fairly and with respect.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position?-I have worked with children (both instructing and watching over) for the past 5 years every Sunday.
-I am in 4 groups at school that work to build other up, promote safety awareness, help others, aid disabled (mentally and physically) persons, and to be an upstanding citizen.
-I am a leader/manager for 2 out-of-school groups.
-I will voluntarily give up my time, no matter how busy I am, to help someone cope with a situation or just be their friend.
-I am in gifted programs, leadership programs, and have had experience and training on handling difficult situations.
-On CS, I have reported several pieces of art theft. I always ask a mod before doing something that I am not sure completely follows the rules. I also am working on setting up a new guide on PPS to help players.
-I spend most of my time on the oekaki boards. If anythings needs done on there, I would surely be willing to do it immediately.
-I am very knowledgeable with the Oekaki and can help anyone with almost any question. If I do not know the answer, I will do as much as I can to find out as quickly as possible and learn something for myself too!
