i was quite a big fan of this update in theory but in practice i agree with a lot of the criticisms raised previously in the thread, in that it seems like we may have benefitted more from more distinguishments among the higher rarity tiers rather than the lower ones.
the main issue before was it was hard to tell the difference in rarity/value of higher-worth pets, where there was a big difference even among pets of the same rarity, meanwhile for lower-tier pets it didn't matter much to begin with with how broad those tiers were and how generally plentiful and easy to trade a lot of those pets were anyway.
seems like this'll just make trading lower-tier pets even harder as people will be arguing over the worth of a common vs extremely common which wasn't that big to begin with, while also making trading higher-tier pets harder as they're almost all just lumped into omgsr now. i feel like that's the main problem i have now - in the higher rarities, where you have more to lose, there's now more uncertainty than ever.
feel like it might be a step in the right direction but from the looks of it, it doesn't seem to have worked out how a lot of us expected even with the information given prior. obviously you're never going to satisfy 100% of the player-base anyway, and i'm still excited to see how this goes!
I feel like I have to agree with this - I don't want to simply shift the OMGSR threshhold back down in fear of bloating the ER or VR categories again. I feel like extremely common could easily be removed and have OMGSC and very common take on those pets, since that's very low-stakes trading anyway.
I feel like we need an extra rare tier, maybe between ER and OMGSR.This way the top of the ER category and the bottom of the OMGSR category might be more granular and we can discern at least a bit more about those high-rarity pets, which is where it's really needed for trading.

Even though I voted against, the only thing I have to say against it is..:
Why didn’t we keep the same color code we already had and had the new rarities have the new colors? It is a big change yes, but this makes it a bit confusing. I’m used to glancing at my colors not the labels. Ex- “okay Red is very rare I can see what to trade vr for”
But now red is Rare and very rare is pink
I feel pink could of been a new rarity labels color, and maybe even instead of the rainbow aka ex custom label color being for our omg so rares. It could of stayed purple, kept the customs rainbow, and added a deep indigo blue for Extremely rares instead of taking the omg so rare purple?
Just my opinion, as I’m a bit confused due to being used to seeing purple as omg so rare
Red as very rare
And orange as rare
Etc.

gonna have to agree with you on this ^^
the bright red is a little confusing imo, maybe if it was toned down a bit it wouldn't be as confusing?

Something that I’m noticing is I think some are thinking that this was supposed to solve all trading issues with this update. But this update was not meant to be a “solve all problems” update. We’re going to need to do a lot more to solve all the issues with the site. This was a massive update that we desperately needed but it isn’t going to solve everything. It’s a huge step in the right direction. A lot of the rest of the issues with trading is going to be up to us as the users. Something I’ve done and I’ve seen many people talk about is I changed my trading rules so that only rarity matters now to me, and dates don’t matter. We have so much freedom with trading that it will be up to us to make the big changes now to hopefully start making the trading economy a better place. The staff has mentioned that they are working on some other changes that they’re hoping to implement into the site. So please, let’s all be a little patient. And to everyone who’s complaining that this is ruining everything, it hasn’t even been 2 days, give it time. Let people figure things out, learn how they want to do things. It’s an adjustment, don’t just start bashing it when it’s barely been implemented yet. We all just need to be a little patient right now as these big changes happen.
