This thread is chaos ;-; The tracing deal has been repeated several times. Can't we just come up with solutions instead?

Do you actually want pets that have lines that don't actually belong to the artist?
I really don't want to get into this any deeper.

- There is very strong evidence that Equimagine traced her lines. This is a major issue, both for safety of the site, and the general integrity. It's very hypocritical to keep traced linearts on a site that hates art theft.
- Many people didn't know about the tracing until this came up. This is because the staff deleted every post that had to do with it, so no one would ever see it.
- Many people already knew about the tracing. Tumblr and other cs related sites reported the information well, so users who bothered to look found the information.REASONS TO CHANGE:
- There is the chance that photographers could become angry about their work being traced and used for potential profit (equine items in store).
- It's very disrespectful to deny a photographer of his or her rights, it's their image. Tracing of it is not okay.
- It would help the horses become more organised. Right now we have 6 horse/pony lines, not counting donkeys, the various kinds of unicorns, drafts, or Zebras. If we make the switch, we will have 2 horse/pony lines, and that would just be a lot easier.
- In my opinion, the designs are far clearer and more beautiful in the new lines. Equimagine supposedly had to clarify that the pattern on the wave pony was meant to be a wave. With the new colour in, one can easily see what the design is supposed to be. This would add value to the designs, because they would finally look good and professional.MISCONCEPTIONS/OTHER:
- Please stop worrying about the rainbow mane or buckskin PPS, Tess has said those two, as well as zebras (maybe), will be taken cre of.
- The staff has said it is harder to convert all of the items, so that's not a valid argument.
- The value of the horses will not go down. Equimagine horses have basically no worth at all, because no one wants them. If anything, the value will go up due to the new, clear designs.
- Equimagine's designs won't be lost, or whatever that argument is. The designs are still hers, and she will likely be given credit. if not, think of it this way; her designs are just being transferred to new lines. Yulynh isn't claiming credit of the designs, they just happen to be on her lines.

I think wibike's idea would be easier, and i'd like it too.
maybe just a different mane or something to set them apart simply
But the suggestion they made was to still have it on the Yulynh lineart just with some simple edit, that just doesnt make it work. They need to be put on some lineart that is running, standing, jumping, I dont really care just something that is TOTALLY different form teh yulynh lineart. Otherwise they will be just like all of the rest and I dont think it would be fair to strip them of the differentness.

That is incredibly false.
I don't see anything wrong in copying anything. But claiming the copy as your own is obviously wrong.
Tracing those horse photos is like copying a generic love story. Nothing unique or special about it, something that has been done thousands of times before.
So if a book was published with a generic storyline, generic characters, etc., it would be entirely fine for another person to publish an IDENTICAL book? No changes at all, same plot and same characters? Because that is what you are suggesting.
Equi DID proclaim it as her own by using it as a lineart. It was through a mistake, yes, but as I've said many times before, this mistake still must be fixed.
And before the argument is asserted that no profit was made: this is also false.
C$ is a large thing on CS now. It is purchased with real money to help keep the site up and running.
This C$ may be used not only to purchase store items, but to trade for desired pets. Some of these desired pets are traced Equi lines. Therefore, a profit is made from the traced lines. The minisculity of the profit does not matter; it is still a profit.

Hmph. Am I the only one who doesn't mind if they were traced or not?
I'm guessing so.
Just because they were traced doesn't mean they're horrible lines and they shouldn't be on the site.
The same with people hating Equi because of the traced lines.
People keep going, If those lines are traced I hate them!
I see that as a horrible mistake.
