Yes, but that does not change the fact that the lines very closely match up with photos easily found on google images. Although horses do tend to make the same poses fairly often, it is easy to tell when an image is traced because it matches up almost exactly to an image when nothing is changed but the size.

'Realistic' and 'same exact pose' are two different things. There aren't many differences in a few of those comparisons. Others I could throw out, but there are at least three that are spot on and are blatant copies.
I would rather have CS ditch their shady past and move on. Not only is it a smart business decision, it's the right thing to do.

Yes, but evidence supports them being traced. If they're able to fit that well, it means they were copied. (At least, legally it's like that.) If she used them for reference, it'd be one thing, but she didn't. She literally drew the picture (or traced, whichever) but even if you drew it by hand/mouse you wouldn't be able to fit them together that well.

I was just thinking about that. I'd LOVE new drafts. They would be my favorite pets on cs

besides penguin dogs of course

Just re asking

Also: I do see how most of her line arts are copied. How much longer will this poll go on?

i keep seeing this.. what are the arabian lines?

They're referring to these lines. They were sold in the C$ store last year, and more closely resemble the old Equi lines. (arabians are a breed of horse, in case that was also unclear)

I agree, the arabian lines would be a happy medium between the two. Maybe having something to set the equi designs apart would help to please those who are upset about the change. ^^

I don't see a difference other than the small main and tail edits. or is that what everyone is talking about?

I dont know if all of these are true but its good enough for me

The updated foals are (almost certainly) traced as well:

(edited to add in the drawing)

But, that isn't art. They are real photos of horses. At least, I think so.
If it isn't art, but irl photos, why should it be called art theft?
It's like turning a photo of a cat into a drawing to compare.

Okay, fair enough, not all of them may be traced because of the nature of how horses are, but there are indeed at least three that look too close for comfort for me.
I'm sorry if I used hyperbole's to make it sound like EVERYTHING was traced, but still. I still think that even one set of lines traced are too many. :/

Also PHOTOGRAPHY IS A FORM OF ART AND COPYING FROM IT IS STILL BAD

Nympheera wrote:YES. Tracing is bad. Tracing is art theft. If you want your drawings to look more realistic, then practice or use references(and use them correctly!).

this. exactly.
and there's strong evidence that says they've been traced. even if she didn't trace them [which even i don't believe], i highly doubt that would even be considered if the original photographer or someone else wanted to file a complaint because the evidence supports the fact that she traced.

also, just a question. how does an extremely simple rat design get changed because it simply looks like an aywas pet that was done by the same artist but entirely traced lines must be decided by a vote before even being considered?

and seriously? now we're saying photography isn't art..? :/
