I dont get why we dont just change the lines right now if its tracing? At first I was against it but now I understand. But why are we having this poll if its tracing and should be fixed anyway?

She quit CS, so I'm not sure anyone knows how to contact her...but I agree, if it can be done, I'd like to see what equimagine herself thinks.

I think I'd still support the project even if equimagine didn't, though. I like Yul's lines better, and I don't like the alleged art theft.

I love the old LA too. I really like them all. And I agree that the buckskin pps, rainbow mane, roadkill pony, ect. would look weird on the new LA. I'd love to have them stay the way they are. But I'd rather lose the equi line art than all of Chicken Smoothie because of art theft.

If I had traced and admitted to it, I'd never want to show my face around there again. I'm not sure she'd appreciate being contacted. What could she do anyway? Tess owns it all. Even if she said she didn't like it, nothing would come of it.

There's really no point in tracking her down if the answer is already pretty solid.

CS is very outspoken against art theft. If art theft is repeated or you lie about it or run around cursing the mods because they locked your topic, you might even get banned. No one here smiles upon art theft. If fact, it's widely frowned upon.
So, bear that in mind as you vote. Think about how hypocritical it would be if CS kept these traced(!) lines. What impression would people immediately have about our members? "Oh, these guys are amazing! They approve of stealing at! Yay, lemme join!" No, of course that's not what they'd think! People who come here and actually pay attention to all the hubbub would think, "What in the name of Pete is wrong with these people? Ruuuun awaaaaaaay!"
Also, if equimegine wasn't wrong to trace those lines, then why can't I find my favorite artist and literally steal their skills? Yet more hypocrisy.
"But the lines are so pretty so we should keep them! If they're pretty then it's not a big deal that they were traced!" So if I trace the Mona Lisa, I shouldn't get sued or arrested just because it's pretty? If you were one of the people who said "but it's pretty" and then went "that's so not cool" to my example, you are being a hypocrit.
Furthermore, if we keep these lines and one of the photographers see, we might not even have the designs, old lines or not. So frankly, some of you are being very selfish. I personally love the old designs and think that they would look great on the new lines, and even if I didn't, I'd rather have that than an error box.
And yes. This is an immediate threat! Someone has contacted the photographer of the foal. So, do you want to lose the designs as a whole just because you can't have it your way?

Unfortunately the old lines were traced off of photographs, which could cause a lot of trouble for CS.
Regardless of what happens to the equi lines, though, the malks will not be affected, don't worry. ^^

Only the foal lines were definitely copied - the others are not known for certain. Please do not post things that are directly misinforming the members.

I'm sorry for the misleading post, I wasn't aware that only the foal was confirmed. I'll try to be more careful in the future.
Although there have been quite a few overlays that are very convincing in showing that quite a few of the others were traced, like the draft and pony (whose overlays have been posted recently) lines. Someone should go through and figure out which pets are confirmed tracings.

Edit: I think this image shows pretty clearly which lines were traced. I think it's safe to say that a majority of the equi lines were traced/heavily referenced.

Well really only one of the lines was confirmed as completely traced, so I guess that's why staff is hesitant? I really don't know why they put this up to a poll, though. I guess they want to see what users think, but that's a bad idea, because according to most in here, potential art theft isn't as important as having lines that they think are pretty...

I don't think they should be changed, simply because my favorite horse, the Buckskin PPS, would look ugly. In my opinion, the newer lines' middle stage isn't as cute as the original ones for ponies. :c

I see some questions, answers, and arguments being repeated over and over and over in this topic. If there is anything that you're unsure of, please just read through the topic first to see if what you're looking for has already been covered.

We have noticed that it seems like the main concerns so far are about a few favorite pets like the PPS ponies and the rainbow mane changing. If the opinion remains divided then we may re-vote with new conditions such as keeping the PPS ponies and have special line edits for things like the rainbow mane horse so that it still looks good on the new lines.

I vote not to have the PPS's lines changed, but I don't mind the others. Thank you for posting that. xD

Better lines you don't like that stolen ones, I mean, it really reflects badly on the entire website.
