She didn't use the Oekaki for her line-art.
DrinaLestrange wrote:She updated the lines, so it's no longer a tracing issue, so it shouldn't be one here. People don't need to bring it up on every single page on this thread and attack people who like the lines. This is a discussion, not a "let's accuse everyone who wants to keep the old lines of saying art theft is okay" party.
It
is an issue, because the traced line-arts are still on the site.
Updating = changing the lines, so no, they aren't still in use as far as I know.
They're not being released anymore, but they are on the site and archive.

If I was writing a book, and decided I liked the characters in Harry Potter, and basically just wrote a new story but using the names, traits, and looks of the characters from Harry Potter, my book would never be published or I would be sued.
I only took a little bit from the HP books, the story was all my own, but I still would have gotten in trouble.
Saying 'only some are traced' or saying 'I like them so this time the art theft doesn't matter' is not only a bad argument, its insulting to people who create art and get discouraged when people steal it.
Its a little sad that this has to be a debate at all. There is PLENTY of proof that a chunk of the lines were traced, and yes this has been repeated over and over and over again, but as long as people keep trying to write it off and act like its not a problem, its going to need to keep being brought up.
CS is being hypocritical if they don't change the lines, but claim they're very anti-copying/stealing/tracing.
I wish there was a "like" button because I agree 100%. This is very logical and I also believe there should be no debate.

Equi never used the oekaki to draw her images. She most likely used a drawing program like photoshop.
There are several users who have tracked down the stolen art work and matched them up with the lines to prove that they were traced. Equi left the staff awhile ago and her account was deleted as a result of the tracing.
Ah --- so she pasted the image into 1 layer, then traced over it in another layer, and deleted the first layer with the image. Thanks for clearing that up.

I've mentioned this before, but it was a while ago so it's probably worth posting again. People, please stop reporting every other post as 'off-topic' or 'bullying'. The mods are in this thread almost constantly, so if there's a general problem, we will see it ourselves and deal with it if needed. Having tons of posts reported for no cause is distracting and annoying and does nothing to make our job easier. Posts that are offensive, linking to inappropriate sites, etc. can be reported as normal, but please stop reporting posts that don't obviously need to be. Someone politely disagreeing with you is not grounds to report their post, and I'm considering giving out warnings for abusing the report system on some of you for that.
Re: the updated adult lines, they weren't a problem to begin with, so the updated lines stayed very similar. Only the foals had to be changed, but equi updated all her lines to keep them more uniform.
@ Iberian Lynx, that pony's hanging out all over the place - there's almost no similarity apart from being in the same (extremely common) stacked show pose. I've seen three different photos claimed as 'references/traced' for those pony lines, all of which matched about equally well.
