Saying 'oh only SOME of her lines are stolen so that's okay!' is a really really dumb argument I'm sorry.
They were stolen, that's it, it doesn't matter if its 'some', its bad for CS to say one thing and do another, which is what they're doing.
Frankly it shouldn't have been put up to a vote, it should have happened, and I have a feeling it probably will, because they. are. stolen.

Many people come onto the thread without being aware of the tracing issue. While it might seem repetitive to those of us who have been following the thread, it is very important to remind people that the images were traced in case they weren't aware.
And while you're not wrong for liking the lines, the fact that you recognize that art theft is wrong should be enough to not support keeping them around. She's only trying to inform people so they can make educated decisions.

If CS was in any danger of legal trouble from Equi's lines, Tess would not have put it up to vote if they stayed or not, so don't even try using that as an argument because it's simply not true.

They're referring to these lines. They were sold in the C$ store last year, and more closely resemble the old Equi lines. (arabians are a breed of horse, in case that was also unclear)
I agree, the arabian lines would be a happy medium between the two. Maybe having something to set the equi designs apart would help to please those who are upset about the change. ^^
This would be awesome o: there wouldn't be as much of a difference~ only problem I could see would be that people would settle for one of equimagine's designs rather than the store horse if some of the designs were too similar, but I don't think that would be too much of a problem since the store horses aren't being sold in the C$ story anymore ^^;
And even if that's still a problem, the train of though still opens up the possibility of making another Yulynh lineart (maybe just slightly edited if not an entirely new one) for equimagine's designs, and that would be nice :3
I'm yes either way, but I think the rainbow mane specifically would look amazing on that particular line art (since that's one of the popular horses people seem to be worried about). Also I love the longer mane on the welsh pony lines--no complaints here if we use those lines for the ponies.

Oh come on. It's just silly to let the staff break the rules they created. What kind of website bans art theft for users but says "all right, you can trace and copy photos pixel for pixel if the general populace likes them!"
That's ridiculous, and I think everyone here knows what would happen if you traced art. All your customers would get refunds and your art would be wiped off the website. So why no Equi? Not all the lines were traced, yeah, but we still need to get rid of the ones that were, at least.

calm down! ppl have different views you dont have to go crazy! I think personally that the equimagines should NOT be changed since they seem valuble and still pretty, even if they are stolen!

creating new linearts for this occasion should do it. but most people disagree with it. we cant have a heap of lines on here, a every thing else has been updated. it will look good, and i think people would appreciate the "new" lines better
@muggafin: i agree

Please, okay, just look at what other people have said. If the photographers who took those pictures decide to press charges,
all the stolen work poofs from the website and we're left with red error boxes.

I don't understand why people want to act like the lines being traced shouldn't factor in.
If I was writing a book, and decided I liked the characters in Harry Potter, and basically just wrote a new story but using the names, traits, and looks of the characters from Harry Potter, my book would never be published or I would be sued.
I only took a little bit from the HP books, the story was all my own, but I still would have gotten in trouble.
Saying 'only some are traced' or saying 'I like them so this time the art theft doesn't matter' is not only a bad argument, its insulting to people who create art and get discouraged when people steal it.
Its a little sad that this has to be a debate at all. There is PLENTY of proof that a chunk of the lines were traced, and yes this has been repeated over and over and over again, but as long as people keep trying to write it off and act like its not a problem, its going to need to keep being brought up.
CS is being hypocritical if they don't change the lines, but claim they're very anti-copying/stealing/tracing.
