Because of the line change {Which I voted yes for}, does that mean we can now use the old designs for 2nd Gens?
Say, the Wave Pony {That's design was re-done on the last topic} and this month's pony?
I'm just curious.
Thank you,

That's a good point, I didn't think of that. I really hope the answer is yes! ;o;

There is one 'artistic flavor" (so to speak) that is repeated a few times in the horse lines... meaning that the horses from the 'litter' from July 2010

Are going to end up looking a lot like other releases (as an example the Feb 2011 horses)

Though that is just one example, because there are many releases that seem to have the same theme of dots and swirls with different coat patterns.
This is why I think that a slight change to the current lines for those changing over would be a good thing, because both groups are uncommon and the 'undercoat' color very close meaning it was the line art that really made them stand apart. Perhaps we could have a slight modification to the lines to make sure that these designs we love will still have their little unique flair to set them apart?
Those ones are related, but there are two litters based on eagles/hawks I think, one that was Equi's while the other was Yul's? I've wondered what will be done to keep them from ending up looking too similar.
That is the point I was making... there are ponies that will end up looking alike as well. (I used these as an example, they were released before my time so I did not know that they were a second gen of those two).
A simple line edit could cut down on a lot of confusion for those that are a tad too similar and at the same time ease the sting for those of us who liked the unique aspect of the different lines. Yes, I understand and fully agree with why this change has to happen and support it, but at the same time I do not want to lose my older darlings in the 'herd'. Dog line arts change all the time (add a tail here, a grin there, ears up, ears down) why not simply have the switch-over horses have a flagged (raised) tail as an homage to the flagged tails in the old lines or something along those lines?

Poppet's Puzzle, I honestly don't think there will be any confusion between the two, or between any horses really. Their designs are significantly different in regards to their colors. Even if two end up rather similar, it wouldn't be the first time CS has had similar adopts(ie, the white feb. and some of the other almost completely white uncommon dogs).

I will be honest. I am really very upset. Tess could have saved us a lot of grief by clearing up the artist tracing issue right from the get go. I believe a lot of the votes would not have been nearly as close. I want the facts from the source instead being bullied by other players.. and I am sure there are some other who feel the same way.
If we were to read this post clearing everything up regarding the tracing, there would have been a lot more yes's. and more important.. SOOOO much less hassle for everyone.
I am very happy for the new lineart and excited.. but I am sad because of the dissappointment in all of this..
I can already guess what the reponses to this will be.. "mellodramatic" "over reacting""you were told". so go ahead I guess..
But I really am super dissapointed in the way this was handled. You could have save so much drama by clearing up all of this ahead of time.. People were getting bullied and there were even tears and lots of people getting foed. I know tht sounds silly over pixel art but it was certainly happening. Especially the younger users were SUPER upset. Don't you care enough about users feelings to clear this up to avoid all the fighting? It does not appear so.
Everyone cheer up and enjoy the new lineart.. I don't mean to bring everybody down.. I just had to say how I feel..
Ugh..

I agree, some people may have seen it as mean of Tess to not allow the vote but in the long run it probably would have saved everyone a lot of grief.

I must say, I'm pretty happy that Tess admitted that they were copied from photos, instead of keeping something under the rug. It's a very rational, and mature decision, as a lot of admins I've seen on sites similar to this pushed things under the rug or even completely denied it.
After this nuclear battlefield we called the ETP, I'm glad that it came out this way. c:

I am ok with the voting part.. Just clearing up the issues would have been nice. It would have calmed people down.... and definitely would have changed their vote.. Instead CS just let everyone fight and argue over issues that were clearly known and not questioned. It's like no one even cared.. (except other users)
I feel a little decieved. I was asked about uniformity and items not art theft.. Then I am told the best reason to change is because of the art theft issue ! ! .. An issue that was barely even mentioned.
It is like asking a friend what she thinks of the color of your dress.... then getting rid of it because it is too small. It doesnt make sense. The poll question was not based on the information considered.
Doesn't matter.. Moving on.. UGH.. I miss the good ol' days..
