There are text labels under the color bars and there is an option to even remove the color bars all together! I feel like they have made every accommodation they could to assist users with visual impairments while also using colors to enhance the experience for those without visual impairments.

Have you proposed reasonable solutions that would work for everyone beyond just making suggestions/complaints about it and stating you feel invalidated? Legit asking, what could CS so to improve things for you? Color blind people are going to have issues seeing certain colors no matter what so it doesn't seem like a reasonable solution to eliminate them when the majority uses them to easily distinguish between rarities at a glance

I think 4 new rarities would be ideal.. there are some pets in the same category that have vastly different values thanothers in the same category

Voted redistribute
Im not sure what would the new labels be useful for except the extremely rare one
So perhaps one new label and a general redistribution cound be a good idea

I think maybe adding a specific pattern or shape for the rarities will be nice option to have in user settings if we end up deciding to have 4 more rarities, although I also do find it a bit confusing since my eyes are kind of wonky too. Even so, distinguishing between 11 different patterns and shapes will be quite difficult in my opinion.

I didn't read all the previous pages, just the initial post and my thought is, that while it's nice to see all the finer points in rarities, it will make trading even harder than it is now. Especially for those who don't own a huge collection already or at least have a much thinner collection of pets from the earlier years of chicken smoothy. I always feel like pets from the last three to four years are easy to trade for, while the more you go back in time, even for uncommon, common and lower rarity pets, it gets a bit harder.

In my personal experience most people avoid downtrading at all costs, even if you're willing to overpay a bit. Introducing even more categories might enhance this. I've had the hardest time trading for event pets from the 2020 carnival event, with fair trades and with overpaying ones, if I offered lower rarity pets.

I know, the most popular vote is to add new categories and I can see some advantages in that, but I mainly think it will make trading harder and further reduce the trading value of lower categories, leading to having to add three pets for a single one, just to compensate for differences in rarity. During events it can sometimes get stressful as it is and this might add to that (e. g. through assumed rarities, seeing as people get really tied up about pets they think might turn out rare, while most of the time they will be "just" uncommon and through fear of trading away higher rarity for lower ones).

So, my preferred option, looking at your diagrams, is actually the first one. Add no new category, just spread pets out more.

I personally love the idea of adding new rarity tiers, but the common tiers are often just lumped in together (omgsc, very common, and common) so I don't think adding yet another common rarity would make much of a difference.
I wonder if the uncommon tier would receive the same fate with the new uncommon labels, but we would all have to wait and see

I believe adding more labels to distinguish rare+ pets from one another would benefit trading pets the most.
Rare, very rare, and omgsr pets have always been super separate in terms of value in my eyes, unlike omgsc, very common, and common pets. Maybe adding a new label outside of common, uncommon, and rare could help? :0

I voted for the four new rarities, but Very Uncommon and Extremely Rare seem like the best ones to add out of the four mentioned.

That's just my two cents! Any helpful updates to the system at all would be greatly appreciated :>

Big support for four new rarity categories! I can't see any way having access to more information about our pets would be a bad thing. It is simply being more honest and transparent about the actual distribution of each individual pet. It would help us make more informed decisions about trades without having to look up a bunch of guides.

I understand why some people think adding more tiers in the lower value end is overkill, but I personally just like the symmetry! Even if no one cares about it, it's a nice aesthetic touch. I also feel that treating commons with the same nuance and "seriousness" as rare pets is simply a good vibe, commons are the pets we see around the most after all. :)

i don't trade nearly enough to have a particularly strong opinion on any of the options (though i would admittedly be curious to find out where certain pets fall on the scale), but i would like to echo the concerns that have been brought up about accessibility in terms of the colours and appearance of the rarity bar.

i think it would be very beneficial, regardless of which update ends up being chosen, to expand on the options of the current rarity bar appearance toggle. whether it's alternate colour schemes that are more accessible for different types of colour blindness, different shapes or patterns, it'd allow people to pick the option that works best for them and i strongly believe that it's always worthwhile to invest the time in making things more accessible.

for myself personally, i would find the notches added on the label mock up to be overly cluttered and distracting, and would very much prefer the option to keep them as they are now with just the sliding star scale and the addition of the new colour changes.

This makes it sound as if any other alternative was dishonest, which I think we can agree, is not the case. The system has fixed points at which a pet falls into one or the other category. That wouldn't change. You'd still have certain ranges of quantity into which rarities fall, indicating pets as rare, uncommon, common and so on. There will still be pets that just slightly made it into a certain rarity. This will be dealt with by adding new notches displaying just how uncommon a pet really is. To make an informed choice this will be more helpful than anything else.
