APPLICATON
What date did you register as a CS member?: August 5th, 2010
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 5012
How many days a week do you usually visit CS? Every day. :3
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? Anywhere from 2 to 15. Depends on what day it is and what all I have to do.
Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them I have a little bit, but none really worth mentioning. They all had less than 100 members.
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?Plenty of times
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? I do that at least twice a day, usually, for a little while and give some people some comment/ critique. If I did get the position though, of course, I'd probably spend even more time there.
Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS? I've really grown to love CS, and because it takes up so much of my time, I'd be ecstatic to be able to help the community the best I can. I love drawing, even if I'm not great, and I love the oekaki boards. The forums and the people in them have helped me improve my art a ton, and I plan on improving more. Since I've spent so much time there and in Suggestions and Problems answering questions about the sometimes, I think I have a pretty good idea of what to expect, how to treat a situation, and what goes in what forum. Of all the different parts of CS, I think I know the oekaki best.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position Not really any skills, I guess. However, I do think I can handle problems effectively and keep my cool at all times. I'm good with handling people without having bias, and it is easy for me to keep and open mind and figure out what the problem is and whose fault it really was.

What date did you register as a CS member?: (if it's less than 6 months ago, do not apply)
October 4th, 2008
How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): (if it's less than 300, do not apply)
Nearing 2500
How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
Every single day
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
Normally between 3-6 depending on school and such
Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them
I have, however the site has since closed down and I can no longer link to it
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
I have indeed and I have been wanting to more often
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
All the time. I love looking through the art. I have even helped a few people along the way.
Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
I have loved CS since the beginning and I have always wanted to be a bigger part of the community. I am a huge art freak and in fact in college for art as well. I think position would be completely and utterly perfect for me and give me the chance to become more involved in the community like I have so long desired to. I love this community and really want to serve it more.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation?)
I have been a tutor in school for many years and help where I can. Also, being a part of the popular Lion King fandom, I am accustomed to having to browse art works to determine art theft, tracing, and other issues with dealing with artworks, but I also love to look at artwork in general. As I said I am an art major and can help moderate and offer constructive critique when it is needed.

What date did you register as a CS member?: Sun Sep 06, 2009 1:58 pm

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 3570

How many days a week do you usually visit CS? 7 days a week, at least normally. If vacations/homework take up my free time, then maybe six.

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? Usually 1 and a half to two (usually closer to two). I usually can't get on 'till the afternoon, because of school. Weekends I am on more, though. I know many other applicants are on much more than I am, but I believe that I can do all the work required of me.

Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them No, I don't usually visit other forums.

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw? Of course. It's a little bit confusing, but I think I've gotten the hang of it. I haven't done oekaki in a while, but I think I may use it a little more now.

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? Yes, of course. I love to see what other artists can do, and it is really nice to see how talented some of the other CS artists are.

Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS? I would like to be an oekaki moderator because I would love to give back to the CS community. I've always wanted to help with this forum, and this would be a wonderful opportunity for me. It may be a lot of work, yes, but I think I would really enjoy it, and it would give me a chance to explore the oekaki more. It would also help me boost my self-confidence, and it would be an honor to help out with CS.

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation? Well, I am not easily angered, and I never let my anger get the best of me. I am willing to take yelling and anger as calmly and gently as I can. I work very well with people, and whining doesn't annoy me. I would be more than happy to resolve any issues within the oekaki board.

Thanks so much for this opportunity, and I would appreciate you considering me, even though I am a younger member.
Good luck to everyone!

First, I would like to say that although I am a COPPA'd user until my birthday in next January, I still believe I can do the jobs of a regular Oekaki Moderator without any problem if I am chosen

1. What date did you register as a CS member?: September 18th, 2010 3:41 pm
2. How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 1208
3. How many days a week do you usually visit CS?: Every day, unless I am on holiday, I will still check CS a few times a week.
4. How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?: 2 at the least, 4 or 5 at the most.
5. Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them: No.
6. Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?: Yes. I have made 147 oekakis to this date.
7. Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?: Yes. I spend most of my time when I'm on CS admiring art (and sometimes mini-modding for anyone who has broken a rule).
8. Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?: I understand that being an oekaki moderator is a very important job here on CS. Teaching people who don't understand the rules will help CS rid of spam, art-thieved oekakis, and other things that annoy or anger people. I have mini-modded a bit and I explain things calmly to keep other people's temper's down. Starting riots or fights over a drawing is pointless, and I am good at solving arguments for these kinds of things. Oekaki moderators have a very important job, and I think I would fit in with them.
9. Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required): I am a pacifist, and I think that arguing with people isn't the way to solve problems. Telling people simply what they have done wrong in a calm way is my style of mini-modding. I also can translate French, Spanish, and Latvian for anyone I need to talk to who is foreign.

Thank you for giving me the chance to apply for this very important job.

Re: Oekaki Moderator - job applications now open!

Postby Klyse » Thu Sep 01, 2011 2:09 pm

1.What date did you register as a CS member?: September 23rd, 2009
2.How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 483
3.How many days a week do you usually visit CS? 6-7 Days a Week
4.How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? 3-4 Hours
5.Have you moderated on any other forums before? I was a moderator on a site called Alfa Wolves for a little while, but I was really the only person who ever got online, so I don't believe that counts. (Nick might know about the site, considering he found a way to put an actual image onto their Oekaki...)
6.Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw? Yes I have.
7.Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? Actually, yes I do.
8.Now the important question: Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS? I want to be a CS Oekaki Moderator because I believe that I would do the job well. I often browse the Oekaki boards just to read posts and look at the art. I also find myself mentally correcting things that are incorrect about these posts (such as spamming). I have been on CS for almost 3 years and since I have joined, I feel like I have learned my way around the entire site (forums, oekaki, and main site). I believe that I could lead users in the right direction if they need help or refer them to a Moderator/Admin if they need to be lead in that direction as well. I also love to view the art here, and enjoy making people feel good about their art. I have learned a great deal about responsibility since I've joined CS, and I feel like I'd be able to pass on that trait to others. I feel that I would be able to handle the jobs that being a Moderator entails. I also want to be an Oekaki Moderator because I would love to help out around here.
9.Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation?) I am a 'peer mediator' among my friends, I do not try and cause trouble among them, and am often settling disputes.
