guys, just cos we have started thinking about it now means that everyone is now accusing equi of art theft.Yes her drawings may look similar to other photos but have you ever considered that she might of just LOOKED at them while drawing.
Changing the lines means a lot of work for the staff members too.Have you ever thought of how much time they will have to put into it.
nobody has ever complained about equis lines now,and imagine what it would be like if she came back and saw us accusing her of art theft that she may never of done. How upset do you think she'd feel..
Spare a thought for other peoples feelings and not just your own.
VOTE NO TO THE CHANGE!!!!

Recolouring the old designs onto the new lines isn't a problem for the staff, there are enough of us keen to work on the project that it won't be an issue. Re the theft, it is addressed in the first post.
So while it's nice you are being considerate of others, don't feel like you should vote No simply because of the work required to make the transformation - it's not an issue. If it was, Tess wouldn't have put forward the project in the first place. Thank you though for thinking of the staff c:

Are we also going to get new draft horses? Not re-released, but maybe as new adoptions? Because I'd love to see them grow up and everything, and I haven't seen the foal version for the drafts yet, but I'm pretty sure they look adorable ^w^
Moving this forward for an answer? ^^

Literally impossible. It is almost entirey impossible for a drawing to match up almost EXACTLY with a photograph. And for so many? Not a coincidence. She traced them. Sure, some lines are different, but if you've ever traced anything you would know that sometimes things look strange if they're just copied, so you move things a bit. She altered things a bit but she traced the photographs, she didn't merely reference them.
And excuse me!? How would Equimagine feel?! How would all of those photographers feel if they were told a site has been profiting off of THEIR work for the past two years adnt hey are likely NEVER going to be compensated for it- AND that people are arguing their opinions shouldn't matter adn that we should continue to use work stolen from them anyway??
They/Them pronouns only.

Selkiegal wrote:This really shouldn't even be up for debate. The traced lines should have been replaced as soon as it was known. It would have saved a lot of grief, especially if the reasoning behind it had been made clear from the start.
Of the main horse linearts, only the original foal lines are known to have been taken from photos (equimagine confirmed this, as the front post states). The second set of lines should have been completely original, according to equimagine, as she drew them entirely new instead of using old lines, and the adult horse lines apparently were always okay but were changed for consistency with the new foal lines. The problem is that people didn't trust her not to have traced the new lines as well, and so any and all photos that even remotely resemble her lines get brought up as 'tracings'. I mentioned earlier in the thread how there have been at least five different photos claimed to have been 'traced' for the original adult horse lines, plus a few for the ponies and drafts. Most of those 'traced' photos bear very little resemblance to the actual lines, but regardless of whether equi did anything wrong with the later lines, those lines aren't trusted and are continually treated as suspect because of that history.

Harpalyce wrote:(a bit off-topic, but guys, please don't link my tumblr directly on cs! it is VERY NSFW and i don't want anyone to get banned or in trouble for it ok? feel FREE to link to where somebody else has reblogged it, or to just go ahead and post the images directly.)
Wark :[ Can someone not-nsfw reblog please so we can link? I only saw the actual traced pictures by googling for Harpalyce's blog and they do make a difference to opinions, I think.
