She copied the art. It's not her work.

The designs weren't copied, and those are what got transferred and are still around to be admired.

The line-art IS copied. The "painting" done inside of the stolen line-art isn't copied.

I think the new pets look great but I still voted against the change. The equanagine horses are special! I hope that equamagine knows that there are tons of people on CS who love your art!

Actually.... She copied lines from actual photographs of horses. However, the designs are still hers. And the Equimagine horses are still special to some of us. We don't all have to hate her... I am sure her name has been dragged through the mud enough at this point.

I love the old lines.... and I also like the new lines. I am okay with the change but I can't say strongly enough how disappointed I am at both the way the change was handled, and the reactions of people on the site.

Yes, she copied, but it was changed. So lets just let people like it, why don't you? It's unethical to copy, but everyone has a right for their opinions, which shouldn't be squelched.

First of all, she is a thief.

Second of all, no one is bashing anyone on liking her art, we're confirming that it is theft.

no one is the bad guy here ^^ it was just an honest mistake.

as i read it Equi used images she had "traced" for anatomy practice. she had forgotten that they were traced and when it was questioned she openly admitted it. that sounds like an honest mistake was made ^^'

After the evidence came out, equimagine freely admitted to copying, but said she made a forgetful mistake when she re-used those lines for CS purposes - she had originally drawn them for anatomy practice before joining the staff, and forgot about the references she'd used to draw them. After we found out, she updated her lines - which is why there is a second version of her horses/ponies on the site. I believe she didn't trace or copy any photographs for the new versions, but some users still didn't trust her and found similar poses in photographs which they believed she had copied parts from. Due to all the controversy she left the site in late 2010 and we hired a new artist (Yulynh) to give us new lines and put all that drama behind us.

Whether it was accidental or not, the issue is still the same - some of her lines really are copies of photographs.

because equi's lines are traced doesn't mean they weren't good. if someone hatted the old lines take it up with the photographer. if you liked the lines then the photographer did a good job ^^
equi isn't a bad person because of this, neither is her amazing designs,
