Ah yes, and if you're on a jury, don't vote to convict the murderer *just* because you think it's unethical to kill people.
They're stolen. Theft is immoral. It makes CS look AWFUL and is a smear in the books. It makes me as a player feel dirty.
But if you want me to not just vote because it's unethical, sure. I've disliked Equi's jittery poorly drawn lines since I first signed up. She simply doesn't have the skill to match up withsome of CS's other talented artists and they look out of place beside legitimately well drawn pets.
Because accidentally using traced photo's is the same thing as killing someone.
It's not exactly, but in a way it is. As bad? Perhaps not. But a crimes a crime, no matter the magnitude, no matter if money is involved, nor if death is involved. Just because there will always be worse things doesn't excuse the smaller issues. You wouldn't excuse someone stealing someone else's stories and selling them for profit just because it isn't as bad as robbery or murder, would you? Same thing.

✨ Everything I have on CS is for sale for Flightrising! Desperately looking for the familiars above. ✨
Pet trades accepted as well.

That is awful to say about her

I bet she tried her best. She took her time to design and draw these for the site, traced or not.
Yes putting aside what everyone is saying traced or not, it's more right out rude to just say that he lines don't match up to the others. There where picked to be used and it just right out mean to say she is not 'talented' enough to have her work next to the others. Sorry thats just kind of what I got out of what you where saying, I may be wrong thats just how it sounds.

Did you forget me so soon?
The one who made you,
turned you into this monster?
How sad.
Though I guess it's to be expected,
you always liked to block things out.
If it didn't make sense in your mind,
you just forgot about it.
But maybe it's because I didn't,
make you into a monster that is.
You already were a monster,
weren't you? ✦ ✧ ✦ ✧ ✦ ✧ ✦ ✧ ✦ ✧ ✦ ✧ ✦ ✧ ✦

I agree with you, but comparing art theft to murder is somewhat dramatic and unnecasarry (my apologies for spelling mistakes, my phone does not have spell-check).
It is still a crime, though, and I, personally, would feel much prouder of being a part of the site if it removed all of Equimagine's lines, knowing the staff corrected the mistakes that were done.

Underlying scandal aside, honestly I know of other websites that update their linearts all the time. It's no big deal really. They put up some samples and people vote to keep the originals or pick one of a couple of proposed changes. Honestly, I am fond of Equimagine's original "Arabian" looking horses. The Ponies, bleh! Not really. As for her redone horses, never liked them, while her new ponies were cute. But all of them really look very simple and just not as artfully done as our current linearts. Think of them as improvements and nothing more if you want. As for the original unicorns, they always looked strained and stilted and ... ...difficult, for lack of a better word to me. The original donkeys I could take or leave as well.
The more I think about it, the more I pray we DO indeed go along with this. I'd love beyond words to see Yulynh's interpretation of a unicorn. <3

Strictly speaking, as the site profited out of those lines (in terms of the horse-items for sale in the store), yes, there could be a lot of trouble D: I guess that's for Tess to work out, but I'm still excited to see the updated artwork for equimagine's designs. The wave pony, for example ^^

I really enjoy the second set of lines she made, I totally agree that the first ones aren't that great.
Using an extreme example makes the fallacy in the logic obvious, like zooming in on an error or putting a video in slow mo. It makes the situation clearer.
This is a very obvious case and I'm honestly surprised it's being debated.
If a user was selling adoptables and they were as obviously and proven traced as Equimagine's lines were, they would be immediately removed. The fact we are even having this discussion proves staff gets special treatment when it comes to art theft.
They/Them pronouns only.

It's a little hard to do something like THIS accidentally:
http://25.media.tumblr.com/eaa1e085c033 ... 4_1280.pngAnd while Equimagine admitted fault in her talking with Tess, the fact that we're still using lineart of dubious origin is still a pretty valid thing to mention.
I think it's win-win - we get more uniform lineart that new items can be fitted to, and it's also lineart we know is 'kosher' so everyone can stop worrying about the issue.
I don't see why it matters if they had the photographer's permission.
