There's a point I would really like to make here, if I may.

So, by the looks of the poll, the majority of members really want this to happen; however, I must say I have yet to see a solid reason why we should do it, besides that people want easy, free animal eggs. Well, if you were to run a poll offering everyone a free zebra or Sunjewel or UR Tiger, you would probably get the same results. That doesn't necessarily mean it's a good or "correct" decision.

I think there are several legitimate reasons why we should not do this, as already stated by myself and others. I would welcome someone to come up with a strong argument for changing the hunt, but as of right now I can't think of one, and so I am passionately against this. I don't want to see animal egg values plummet, and this doesn't seem fair either to the people who have already overpaid for them or those who won't be able to get online during the hour because they live in the wrong time-zone.

I really don't believe animal eggs are that hard to get, I think the hunt is perfect as it is now, and I don't see why it would be beneficial to change it.

Some people, like myself, really don't have the time to look(college, university, finals are coming up, work, family life, etc.). I've only gotten one so far and that was on sheer luck, as it is right now.

I think this is a good idea because I honestly care nothing about rarity. Rarity doesn't matter to me for these - I just want the cute animal eggs. It seems like this is a rarity thing, which isn't really that great of a reason to keep the hunt the way it is now. Rarity just seems like an obscure reason to keep the animal eggs hidden and to make it that much harder for people like me to get them (and trade for them). I would much rather have them for aesthetic/sentimentality reasons than have them for their rarity. I'm trying to collect all and that's a bit impossible when the event is in the middle of my final exams and final papers due.

Give me an hour? Sure, I can make that.

Okay. So when I first read this my reaction way one of joy, it seemed a great idea for the people that are struggling to get animal eggs and want them.

Now, after thinking about it for a while, I don't think this is a good idea. What about the people that have overpayed for animal eggs, it's sure not fair to them or the people who cannot get on during the time frame given and still have to overpay to get the egg they want.
In my mind, it'd be like saying "how about for an hour everyone who adopts the monthly horses will get 1 zebra in the mix" but on the 3rd day of the month. Significantly unfair to the lucky people who have got a hold of a zebra in the past, and to the people who have paid heaps to get one. (Maybe not quite like a zebra, but hopefully people understand what I'm trying to get across.)

I love the hunt how it is, it works and the eggs are a lovely little surprise.

Personally, I collect the animal eggs, but I don't want them to become so common. I mean of course I'll still collect them but I think that half of the fun in collecting these eggs is that you don't know when you're gonna get one. So when you do finally get one, you become really excited. Besides, since everyone is in a different time zone, the egg hunting hour will occur at a bad hour for some people.

To address the 'timing unfairness', I would like to point out that a few pages back somebody suggested that each person be able to 'trigger' their animal egg hour at a time of their choosing. Tess herself replied to that indicating she thought it was a good idea.

Clearly that's not official yet but it does indicate that they're at least looking into the possibility. So that should take care of people worried they may not be online during the given time.

As for people who already 'overpaid' for eggs... well it was their own decision to do so. If they didn't think it was fair at the time, why did they pay it? It's like buying tomatoes at Cub Foods and then going to Walmart the next day and being mad because Walmart offered tomatoes at a lower price. The Cub Foods price was fine when they paid it but suddenly it's unfair because somebody else is offering for lower. Honestly the price difference is the price of impatience. They wanted to get the eggs by a certain time instead of waiting so they paid extra to get it early. Like paying for express delivery when shopping online. *shrug* That's the risk of doing business. If they're going to offer overpay and be fine with it, they can't complain about it afterward. Nobody held a gun to their head and forced them to overpay.

And for people concerned with 'rarity' - I notice that generally those people complaining don't care about the animal eggs themselves, only what they can price-gouge other people out of to sell them. Kinda like the oil companies jacking up prices or artifically reducing supply so they can keep gas prices high. Heaven forbid they make only 20 billion profit instead of 21 billion. The people in favor of the animal egg hour don't care about rarity. They just want to be able to casually collect the eggs they want without being gouged through the nose for them or constantly being outbid by rich people with oodles of extra rare pets to throw around. I don't see a problem with that.

Most of these people are going to KEEP those eggs, meaning they won't go into the supply, so the number of eggs up for trade would actually probably stay about the same. Sure, demand would decrease, but most of the people hanging onto their eggs wouldn't be able to afford the price gouges anyway, so the rich folks would still be able to buy if they wanted and I don't really see the egg market changing very drastically from this at all.
