Some of you seriously need to read the original post before you comment, I mean honestly.

This annoys me to no end. Photography is art. People must have creativity and patience to take the right picture. But regardless whether or not photography is an art form or not (which it is), how is tracing GOOD? It is not her work, it is copying a horse with little to no effort. It is not difficult to trace. Tracing does not show your style or skill. It's a crime just like plagiarism or using someone's artwork.

Well if it is copywrited, or even not, it is considered plagerism.
(sorry, im rushing, bad spelling)

And plagerism is quite a crime.
And taking photos is claiming it as your own work, when somenody else has done it, but not only in this case. Equimagine traced the photos and put them here as a lineheart, giving the photographer a chance to sue CS for plagerism, and it might have to be shut down.

Man.. I spelled "plagiarism" wrong, ALOT
oh well, please ignore that, im in quite a rush.

Is it possible to keep the PPS and the donkeys? I have seen the PPS addressed but no one has said a word about the donkeys?

Atome.. I really resent that comment implying that I am not looking at things reasonably.. and that I am not thinking of
CS. Please word it a bit differently becuz your comments make my blood boil and prolly a few others.

I like the new draft horse lines, but I think the Equine horse lines are fine the way they are.

Photography is an art, and a very difficult one to master.
Most people look at a camera, see the auto option, and click away. A real photographer must have the right settings all around, and it's a pain to get them all right. You have no idea how difficult it can be to get a good shot. I have a few books on photography, and all of them describe how tedious taking the image can be.

Exactly this.
Please people.
It's alright to have an opinion, it's great to have one in fact! But you have to look at this reasonably and choose what is best for CS as a site, not what would make you the most happy.

There is a vote here because if enough people want the horses to stay the same for their 'selfish personal reasons' it becomes what is best for the site.
If it's that important tess will do what she chooses regardless of the vote.

That's not true. Proper photography is a lot of hard work and saying that it isn't a form of art can be incredibly hurtful to those who take photographs. Photography, like an art, can be expressive and emotional and it's not about just snapping a picture. It's incredibly difficult to get the right angles and lighting and if you're taking photographs of scenery it can be quite frustrating because things can get in the way.

In answer to "what's so bad about tracing", it's stealing. Tracing a copyrighted photograph is a violation of copyright laws and the original photographer can sue if they want to. It's also lying, and telling someone that you did all the work and you learned how to perfectly draw anatomy when, in fact, you can't. it's dishonest.

Have you tried to trace a picture? it takes more effect then one thinks, and what is the difference between tracing and using a photo as a reference and making the 'art' look exactly like the photo?

I just wanted to post a quick reminder that the discussion of photography being an art form is not needed here. We don't mind the discussion about the topic at hand, but this is just not relevant.
