I believe the main issue with changing the linearts is the fact that equimagine's horses are so slender and free-spirited in appearance, rearing up and such, with smiles on their faces, where-as Yulynh's are more firm and realistic, stamping at the ground, with a thicker build to them... which isn't a bad thing, they're just quite different from each other. Those who prefer a more cartoony style are likely to prefer equimagine's lines over Yulynh's, and it is a shame to see them changing so drastically... but change isn't necessarily a bad thing, either!! And the artists are doing such a great job of keeping the same design yet on another lineart... so good job!! ^ u ^

Alot of items have been converted to fit the new lines i see the change as good thing. Its like electing a new leader for a dcountry. The leader could be good or bad it all depends on what they do for the country.

They ARE the exact designs of the Warrior Cats. I'm just saying, but there is an issue with calling them that. Though I doubt the Authors would mind- they let us make fan-fics using there cats and all

They aren't technically called the warrior cats anymore, people just call them that still as far as I know this was already dealt with by Tess a while ago, reason the lines and designs can stay, but they can't be classified in the archives as warrior cats and stuff as far as I know anyway, I might be wrong but I thought I read this somewhere

You're correct Kitty ^^ The lines and designs can stay since they are natural designs. The artist's simply can't say "based on warrior cats". They also stopped making more designs like that for the same reasons. And I do believe the stopped because the artist did care ^^

And before you start worrying about other old lines - we think that's the extent of the problem. As far as I know, there aren't any problems with any other lines on CS. Including the warrior cat lines - which some people think are discontinued because of copyright issues with the lines or designs. Actually, it was naming them "Warrior Cats" that was problematic, the lines (and designs) are fine to stay, and we have no plans to remove them.

Backing up the above with this in depth explanation:

The cat lineart isn't copyrighted to anyone but me. They were taken down because we wanted growing lineart which SaltyToothpaste helped us provide. We also wanted to stop making fanart for a book series. Coincidentally the same month we planned to take the old cats down, Warrior Cats creators contacted us to ask us to remove the name 'Warrior Cats' from our site as well as the Warior Cats character names we displayed alongside our adoptables. Since we had plans to remove them anyway, we were happy to remove both the names and the cats from the site at the same time.

This action created some confusion about exactly what had to be removed and why. Many people mistakenly believe the cat images themselves were breaking copyright and can't be used again - they weren't, just the names we displayed with them. The lineart is copyrighted to me and the designs were not copyrighted to Warrior Cats - they were natural cat coat colours we drew based on written descriptions. There's nothing stopping us from offering the exact same cats again, we just can't label them as Warrior Cats.

However, we have no intention of 'bringing the old lineart back' because it's non-growable. We only use it occasionally for special events where it doesn't matter so much that they don't grow. Otherwise, it's kind of boring. You instantly know which variation you got and there's no waiting or anticipation. All of our other pets are growable, so they would really be the odd ones out. I also prefer the appearance of the newer cat lineart.

We will never be making any pets (of any lineart) based on 'Warrior Cats' designs again because we are not allowed to use the name 'Warrior Cats' or the character names from 'Warrior Cats' as we have no association with them.

While there's nothing stopping us from using the old cat lineart again, we don't intend to release it on a regular or semi-regular basis. But we won't rule out using it for special occasions e.g. during the advent calendar or a similar event.
