If you do update the horse lines, will it change the ones that already existor will it leave them as is?
Because the equimagine lines a worth a little more since they are older and are much different than the current ones, and I also realky want to keep those, since I have a collection.

(pleasenforgive me if im wrong about the rarity part)
But thank you for your consideration! <3

I think that too. I wouldn't like the equimagine ones to be changed since they ARE worth a little more. I have one and I value it lots.

PLEASE STOP HATING ON THE ORIGINAL ARTIST OF THE OLD LINEART. It was an honest mistake for her to maybe copy off of images. She has talent. That does /NOT/ mean she traced.
I rarely check this website any more. If you need to reach me, please contact me through my Deviant Art. *Note: I am largely uninterested in CS pets/items as art payment, but I have no plans to give away anything on my account/any of my characters.

I think the line art should stay the same. It's a part of Chicken Smoothie's history. I mean, Emaginiques[I probably spelled that wrong xD] are not my favorite pet, but I still like them. Their just an example of how Chicken Smoothie itself has grown and change. But just because the site has changed and some lines have changed doesn't mean that the lines have to change, does it? I value the old line art horses more than the newer lines- and not just because of the dates. Their unique. Sure, I don't go around saying every second, "I LOVE EQUI'S LINES!!!!" But that doesn't mean I don't like them. But I do, in fact, like the new Draft Line arts.

We are not "hating" on the artist. We are discussing the issues her copying can, and very likely will, bring to the site.

It's kind of rude to the photographer who took those images, though. We should respect them as an artist if we're going to respect Equi.

In all honesty guys we should be looking at this in a manner that asks: "What's good for CS as a site?" not "What would make ME happy?"

Exactly. I feel as if the arguments against the change, no offense meant to anyone who argues against it, are more self-centered, describing their love for the look and how much they'd miss the lineart, etc. I haven't seen much, if anything, argument-wise that focuses on the good of the CS website as a WHOLE.

And anyways, no one gave a crap about the old lineart before this new idea was preposed. And all of a sudden equid's lineart horses are everyone's favorite.

This!

and, of course, the obligatory comparison post.

Saying 'no offense' doesn't get rid of the fact that what you are saying is rude

And yeah, we've seen that all day.
However, those only apply to her first linearts.. there are TONS of non-traced equi horses

just thought i'd say that i agree that art theft is a serious issue, but i'd let the photographers decide for themselves. the majority of them have been contacted [by multiple people, in multiple different ways], and i think it's best for them to decide. in the mean time the only thing we can really do is vote and hope they'll reply.

also, how will this be judged? how will it be decided which side wins, eg. what would happen if the vote was very close, only one side winning by a couple votes? i asked a while ago but it never got answered.

There were posts by a few staff members a while back (I'd pull them up but search doesn't work in global announcements :C) that this will probably not go through if a large portion of CS would be upset (and 49% falls under the category of "large portion")

Okay fine.. I still don't believe the supposed art theft should be a part of this discussion but.. okay.. enough people are talking about it.. I will give it a chance...

Question: Why is this such a big deal now? The alleged theft happened like 4 years ago.. and it was supposedly handled already. Why is this passionately being debated 4 years later??

Question: If the alleged art theft is supposed to effect our decision, why didn't Tess bring it up?? Why didn't she inform us about it and ask us? It obviously affects her... Have you even considered that she is handling it and wanted us to base our opinion on the uniformity and the items? hhmm Isn't that EXACTLY what she said?

Question; Can you honestly say that if this was Malk's art... or the Cerberus.... or the Slephnir.. that you would respond the same way?? Be honest..

Yeah yeah.. their lineart is a different species.. blah blah blah.. It doesnt matter.. For most of you, you would be royally upset if they changed it.

Anyways... why do I keep responding? Ugh. It doesn't matter.. I will love them either way... and all will be okay..

I will still push to keep the donkeys.. Please Keep the Donkeys..

Yes. I know that. That's the point. Equid's horses had virtually no demand, but now they do because we're in danger of losing them. I'm telling you, even some of you guys who voted "no" would've canceled that trade.
By the way, I'm not a second grader. I know about demand, okay? No need to lecture me.
There isn't really much more I can say at this point until I calm down.
Because I'm being treated like a piece of crap because I don't share your opinion.
    It's good to be back.
