I'm just sad the Zebras are going to change, I loved their lineart. Was that lineart ever copied off of everything? Or the donkeys? I don't think they should go, Equimagine or not..

I do not think the Zebras will be changed unless it was mentioned previously...

Edit: Ninja'd :oops: This thread moves so fast!

But this makes me think.

If I quit DeviantArt and said "Oh, I'm not going to come here, but leave my art for others to enjoy, so bye!"

Then people can come in and steal my characters designs?

That's how I kinda took it, correct me if I'm wrong.

She SIGNED over, meaning she said 'Oh yes, you can use it', She didnt just quit and CS kept using her designs

Thanks for making that clearer ^.^
Spirit10 and I are partners, we use the same internet!!

Good Omens.

No, DiviantArt is a place for independent users to upload their own art. Equimagine was an employee of Chickensmoothie.com, and her art was created specifically for the adoptables here, so it belongs to the website, not to her.

Ninja'd again :c Curse this slow computer!

This. I'm voting no because of this and several other points. I would hate for us to go through this every single time our lines change. That's totally uncalled for.
.

Probably not. I don't see Yulyhn going anywhere anytime soon, and there are less reasons to change their lines if they ever left as well. They didn't trace, for one.

I dont see where your getting this from. If that was the case we wouldn't have Malks

There are too many linearts for one species and equis lines are traced.

Alright, I originally said yes to the transformation, but now I've seen some really good points being made. Changing these horses is like Greek/Roman mythology. At first there were the Greeks, the old and most powerful of the time, then along came to Romans and tore down the Greek empire, basically taking the Greek gods and changing them. If we didn't have the technology we had today, most of the Greek's history would be lost. It's the same with the horses, if we change them, then our history, the history of CS will be changed as well. Imagine how confused the new members would be when the older members would be taking about 'the great horse change' or something like that. There would be no history or anything to dignify that these horses even existed! Besides, the newer horses aren't exactly my favorite of CS pets. I personally like the older design better.

Okay serious question here.
What is the history of CS? And who actually cares?
Plenty of things have happened in the past that newbies don't know about, and I don't think they care. And, if they care enough, they go and look it up. There have been multiple changes and "scandals" and whatnot, and no one really cares anymore.
I don't think people who are new to the site will be upset that they missed a lineart change. For god's sake, just keep the old horses in the archive, that way people can look at them if they really care.
Also, isn't comparing chickensmoothie to Greek history a little dramatic?

I think that issue (of the revamping linearts every time an artist retired) came up because horses/ponies have become an integral part of the site (think rats, butterfly wolves, growing cats, etc); they're one of the main species (why else would they be at the top of the adopt page?), so if yulynh retired (which looks unlikely), then unless she gave permission for CS to continue using her lines or something, we'd probably get another horse artist since that's a pretty big species. (Owls and spiders, although loved, were slowly dying out; the main species don't show any signs of dying out at all.)

edit: aaaagh too many parentheses ;A;
Spread the word to end the word, because discrimination based on perceived or actual IQ/"intelligence" is no better than discrimination based on race, gender, etc.

Context, consistency, and clear antecedents are golden.
I neither read nor speak between the lines. But I will analyze your language.

Well the tracing is only one reason for the change.
The other issues that seem to be the main topic of the first post will still exist.

There are too many linearts for one species and equis lines are traced.

The malks were a different breed, per se. Like the malk dogs, they aren't ever going to be changed since they were a whole different species, per se.

Equi's lines being traced are Illrelevent (Yes i know its spelled wrong). If they were, there wouldn't be a chose, period. If there was a chance of a lawsuit, it would be finalized without our votes.

Articuno ;;
She was just using it as an example ;u; and what about the people who would WANT the old linearts? Honestly, I'd love to look up the history of CS.
