I say no to this idea. I understand why, it's certainly a good idea, but I simply love Equipimagine (definite spelling error here - i never knew how to spell her username anyway) designs, and I think they should be kept for not only the - lacking a better word - historical value and for simplicities sake (it would be difficult to change all the line art, no? x3)
Not that I don't enjoy Yulhns (dunno how to spell this either) designs, they're lovely and she's an excellent artist, I just really enjoy both of the line arts and I like seeing all of my Equipimagine horses in my collection, smiling and some of the memories of my earliest days here on CS.

But something still will change drastically - if I like the pet or not. How is it different from scamming?.. I was promised a pet I like, but then suddenly it turns into something different.(( Isnt that a determination of scamming - promising something, which then turns out into something completely different? It's art scamming. Wont an artist be charged for scamming if, instead of one kind of art, say cute, they made a different kind of art, say realistic\new?..

Im terribly upset by this.(( I will seriously be disappointed if CS does that. That would show that instead of being as user friendly as possible, CS goes into the route of "cheaper\easier" way.((( Neopets way, CS, be careful... wrong way to do things.((

I keep seeing posts saying they don't want the change because of those couple PPS horses that's are so cute. That's sounds really unreasonable to me. I think they're cute too, but think about all the old Equi designs that will be getting updated and will end up being much better quality than they were before. I don't think we should keep the equi lines just to cater to those who only like those PPS's. I think we need to be looking at the bigger picture here, and not just throwing the idea to the wind just because of that.

How is this cheaper and easier? We would have to go through all the old horse/pony designs and modify them so it makes it easier for you guys to dress them. It's in no way scamming, we're just looking to update them all to match the same style. ^^

Maybe it's just because I'm not the biggest fan of the current horse lineart, but I think a lot of these designs would look better staying the way they are. So I'm torn on the issue.

If the major concern is items, why not re-code the items to have two different versions? Sort of like some items automatically change to fit PPS dogs, or dogs with different ear styles?

That would require more item images to be created ^^; the items that change have different item images; when they switch to fit a different lineart, it's not like the pixels are rearranged--the item image itself changes to a different image.

Still just wondering. :3

Although I do love equimagine's linearts, I think the Yulynh ones are more updated and 'realistic'. Also, the new draft lines are gorgeous! Great job!

I finally found a description of my feelings.

Well, it sounds stupid, but I regard some certain pets as living ones. C: I'm the sorta player that comes on for the feeling of owning a pet of your own, since I have none in RL. And Equimagine horses have a special, irreplaceable feeling all on their own. It has quite a danger of dissapearing if the lineart changes. They eyes seem to have a little more feeling.. Like a personality. c: I smile at rainbow equimagines... But it's not a guarantee it'll be the same with the new linearts.

It's probably some sort of bond between user and pet, I guess. x3

Change the items, it would take less time and keep users happy! I am against this with every fiber in my being. Change the items, not the horses! Yeah SOME people hate the old designs but its it fair to get rid of Equimagine just because the designs are old/lousy? Not meaning o be rude but it's sort of like favoritism.

I understand that the pixels can't rearrange themselves, that's just silly ;) What I meant was, if you're willing to go through the trouble of creating new images for all the horses, why not avoid upsetting a lot of people and just create new images for the items instead?
