I like all the horse linearts, but if the older ones changed, they wouldn't be as special. And items aren't that important to me, but I understand that some people absolutley ADORE them. And all the Equimagine horses are unique and cool, but the change would make horses a lot more unnapealing. I've seen a lot of trade rules that say something along these lines, "No horses, rats, blah blah..ect". I have come to love the Equimagine lines, and I hope that they stay with us.

I agree that for some of the poses, the evidence is a bit inconclusive. However, we then come to this, it becomes pretty obvious there's something going on.

If you click the link, you can see the full image with overlay which shows that it matches up nearly exactly.

Whether or not this is intentional is beside the point. Whether or not it actually happened is beside the point. As I said, Tess and equimagine have sorted it out among themselves to their mutual satisfaction. But it 'looks bad' and this leaves CS open to lawsuits at worst and being called hypocrites at best. For that alone I think changing the lineart is worth it.

Of course I'll be sad to see the old lineart go. I have a fondness for them, too. However, I want to make sure CS is protected against accusations, and I want to be able to enjoy my virtual horses with a clear conscience, not worrying about whether the lineart they are based off of was done in a way that disrespects the original photographer by not giving them credit for reference.

The 'evidence' for the adult equi lines being traced isn't very good.
Anything can be made to look traced

NOT ACCUSING THE NEW LINES OF BEING TRACED AT ALL JUST MAKING A POINT

Dude if you can't accept the evidence of the lines being traced then I don't really know what to say to you??

Lets put it this way, what would you prefer? CS changing the equi lines, or CS getting sued and possibly shut down because a photographer has found out that one of their pictures was traced and is being used on a for-profit site?

CS wouldn't be shut down over the lines, but what could very easily happen if a copyright claim was made is that every single pet on the lines in question would have to be immediately deleted. No line change, no replacements, just zap so all you'd have is an error box in place of a pet. This could happen even if the lines weren't traced and simply resembled the photo, as with the grey horse photo, if they had enough evidence of "see, these people say it's traced and it looks close enough to me, so I'm pressing the suit and filing a DMCA on it".

If the lines are redone, we will have;
- horse lines
- pony lines
- new draft lines
- new unicorn lines
- new donkey lines
- maybe new zebra lines

That's a lot of variety!

I don't really understand this part. If the lines are updated, does this mean they'll use all these new lines every so often, or just to replace the old lines?
I stopped caring about this being perfect on mobile so enjoy!

We'll keep Yulynh's current lines, and all of the new things will be added. So there won't be new horse or pony lines, but everything else yes.
If that's what you mean?

Tess has already explained that what happened was equimagine used a photo that she didn't own as a reference, forgot that she used a photo as a reference when she was making the line arts and referenced her drawing when making the line arts. Equimagine admitted herself that it was art theft, though not intended. Though incidental, it was art theft. And that's not what's up for debate, it's whether you want to have the designs changed to the new line arts.

Agree with BlueRuby. And it was in few minutes. Spent a hour or mire and we can get something that looks exactly like that.

But the thing with this art theft argument is that I have never seen anyone actually care that it was art theft until now. The lines have been in use for four years. Nobody has shut CS down yet, nobody has actually complained. All this art theft talk is making it more likely to bring it to the attention of the image holders to shut CS down. You lot are making this too dramatic for something that nobody ever thought twice about before this topic arrived.

I'm voting yes, But It's was so hard to decide. Especially when the one reason I decided to really stay on CS was because these adorable ponies came out for adoption.

To this day, the buckskin pps is still my favorite pet here.
It's one of my very first pets, so he's just so special to my heart. I Guess seeing it changed is something I'd just have to get used to.

But art theft is NOT ok and it's obvious to me that it is traced.

but more thing No one (that I've seen) has posted about..

What about the zebras?

??

For me, I feel fine with the line arts changing.
Just some of the more original ones, like the really small baby pps horses?
cant find a picture as im on my phone but theres a yellow one with the lightning? Im concerned that those may be lost or converted into the second stage ruining them for me.
