You blatantly have no idea how tracing works. Your subjective opinion doesn't change the facts.
They/Them pronouns only.

We could debate over and over the minutiae of what is tracing and what is reference and when that line is crossed but it is a moot point because Tess decided that for the integrity of the website the old lines had to be removed.

I still say I wish that since the work had to be done to move over all the designs to the current lines that they could have done a small line edit to the current lines so that the older horses and ponies would have kept a small bit of unique flair. It is too late to do this now because so many have been moved over that would have to be redone yet again.

Someone mentioned to me earlier that it is like some 50's B movie... you go to sleep and the horses are all fine in the paddock and you wake up and they have all changed... they are still the 'same' horses but they are now "pod ponies".

The artists are doing a beautiful job at the task they have been given and have shown a lot of grace under the mounds of criticism heaped on them which they do not deserve and there is no way they can make everyone happy.

.: Lupen :. wrote:No, they do line up near perfectly. Not to mention she could have easily rotated or resized things in photoshop.

And even if you were right, heavily referencing is still against the rules.

On the running horses, she did rotate the legs a bit. On the drafts, she tweaked the legs a bit. On the foals, she basically shared the outline she did of them. Now...can we not continue anymore of this banter? What's done is done; there's no going back. What we have to look forward to is a more pleasant "going ahead" and I'd rather see that than the continued arguments that frequent this thread.

SquidGirl wrote:Now, I'm not trying to say that the lines of the draft were traced or anything. This is just to point out how similar they looked to this draft someone posted referring to the square heads some and many drafts can have. Again, this is just something interesting I noticed. Almost anything drawn nice enough can sometimes be matched up to a photo or another drawing. >->

anywayyyyy.

This is in no way the same as in the EQ horses' case.. O___o
Really now, these drafts are not even the same kind of horse. It doesn't line up either. It doesn't matter if something is drawn nice or not, if something is traced it is easy to see it. (the only thing they have in common is that they are standing and facing right.)

And the new drafts are deifinetly not.

They are proportionally correct, that is what makes them look similar (as every horse is similar that way)

I am pretty sure the drafts where drawn that they would look like a "general" draft, same as the ponies and horses. With a few small line art edits you can easily make them more similar to a specific breed, as seen with the regular horse lineart -> edited slightly to look like arabians etc.
