I'm really not satisfied with this idea ...
    Yes, I understand that it could be considered a bit strange and even unorganized to have different linearts in the horses, but I think it makes the website all the more unique to have such variation. Plus I've always adored the Equimagine linearts ;_;
Does this mean you'll be doing the same to the old cat lineart?

Well said.

Just because the photographer hasn't found about about their lines being traced (or apparently traced), doesn't make it right. Doing something wrong like art theft, robbing, etc. etc. is wrong whether you're caught or not, or whether the other person involved "pressed charges" so to speak.

This whole issue should be much more simple - a yes. It does worry me a bit people don't care about art theft. It may not be as serious as other crimes, but it still is a crime. By keeping these lines it's pretty much giving people the message that CS has a policy against art theft, yet looks the other way when an artist does it. No matter how many people like the old lines, and no matter if the photographer has done anything, this really does need to be delt with.

Sure it'll take time to get used to the change, but people WILL get over it. Memories and nostalgia is nice, but when there are other issues at hand aside from your emotional attatchments, you need to think of the big picture.

A lot of photographers, and artists, do, including me. I often see big "DO NOT USE, EDIT, OR REDISTRIBUTE !!" signs or watermarks on art, and then I see that someone has literally erased or cropped it out so they can use it for some roleplaying character. -_-

Thank you very well said and no it may not be covering up what they have done, but it's not going to change it if the person ever did want to do anything about it. But just to change it over because some are unhappy with the items not fitting or because there are simply 'to many' to me it's just not real reason.

Likely the photographers don't know. It's a big internet, after all. However, I would be happy to try and inform them! A lot of the pictures seem to be from personal sites.

I do not think this is a cover-up in the least, if anything it is the OPPOSITE of a cover-up to admit that there is a problem and to then fix it. iirc the old designs will still be available to look at in the archive - if not official, I am sure people will make fan-archives if the switch happens. The history will still be there. But instead of denying the problem, CS will have done something to fix it.

A cover-up, after all, is just making excuses for a problem to continue. A lot of people would like to see this mistake corrected, which I don't think is a cover-up at all. Instead it's a good example for everyone. If you make a mistake, you don't just shrug and say 'well, it is what it is' - you do something to make it right. c:

Well, I can imagine not many photographers would browse an adoptables site made for children. But, what if they did? CS could be in potential trouble for the lines, and no one wants that. Also, it's extremely hypocritical to keep traced or heavily referenced lines when CS has such a heavy rule on art theft. And here's the thing; a fresh start comes with change. If someone was a criminal and wants a fresh start, they must stop engaging in criminal activities. In the same way, if CS wants to get away from these lines, they must stop having them on the site.
This would be a huge help to CS, I think. General morality is also part of this; how right it is to keep traced or heavily referenced lines, especially when we have a new, talented artist?

That's a bit hypocritical, isn't it?
If we consider your feelings, consider the feelings of those who want the lines changed.

No one is voting yes to be mean or to hurt the people who like them. That would be like me asking everyone voting to consider the feelings of those who really love the Yulynh lines and really want the change. I know that the people inclined to vote no aren't doing it because they don't want me or the other yes-voters to be happy. I hope those inclined to vote no understand this about the supporters as well.

Thats kind of what I was wondering, since the big reason they are doing this for was to make the site more uniform and not have a bunch of different lines. If the reason was like everyone has been stating before to keep the site rules then I would understand and all, but the reason is because they are trying to make the site look more uniform to make it 'simpler' for user. Sorry if I am wrong, but that is what I understood from the first post. So then will they start doing this with some of the other old lines, not just the horses?

Did you forget me so soon?
The one who made you,
turned you into this monster?
How sad.

Though I guess it's to be expected,
you always liked to block things out.
If it didn't make sense in your mind,
you just forgot about it.

But maybe it's because I didn't,
make you into a monster that is.
You already were a monster,
weren't you?

No thank you, it will never look good on any lines but the ones it's on now.

This is a horrible idea. Equis designs belong on her lines not Yulnyhs. I mean no offense to our resident horse artist but the designs being transferred into her lines feels like your ripping away beloved CS memories. One of my very first pets was an Equimagine horse a pound grab from a friend as a welcome gift. I don't see how messing with the linearts is easier than fixing the items to work with all of the horses not just the new ones or old ones depending on what item your referring to.

The drafts? Fine. The unicorns? Okay.

Anything is a no go. This is a very upsetting idea, why do you feel that ripping away the gorgeous lines is a good idea? For organization? For better trade values or "demand?" People are saying the same things over and over again and even one of the ridiculous CS blogs on tumblr is mentioning the fabled forbidden subject.

Please don't rip away beloved CS memories it's not fair on those who don't want the change. can;t we have a choice on whether or not we have the horses changed? Instead of the poll deciding on the outcome. I do not want my old horses changed just because we have a newer artist whose lineart I don't love anywhere near as much.

I completely agree.

I don't believe this is a good idea. I like the old lineart and I think it's just too boring if we change them all to the same. It's fun to see how the lineart changed through the years on CS. I like my horses in there lineart too much to want them to change. The whole reason, in my oppinion, to collect them is because the lineart is cool and different!

Besides, those of you who are saying equi used images to make her lineart, ANY horse/foal could simply plop down on the grass in that position. I've seen it before. I could go out riding on a horse one day and it could end up in the same galloping/trotting/walking (whatever you think it is) possition as Yulnyh or Equimagine's linearts. Then I could just go around on CS and say they copied my picture for their lineart when they really didn't! Plus, most artist need originals to help them with their design.

Atwood wrote:^ Yulyhn's horse is beside the point - the overlay is to show how something that's not traced can be made to look traced with an overlay of a similar pose. :3 The grey horse shown in the blog as the 'trace' for the adult horse lines is almost certainly not a photo that was used for those particular lines, if any even were. I've seen at least five different photos claimed to be 'traced' for those equi adult horse lines, and none of them fits much better than the grey horse does.

See what I mean? There are thousands of horses that could do that same pose and people can go around saying that it was traced!

The designs that the horses, donkeys, drafts, and unicorns (sorry if I miss anything) that we have now are Equi's lineart and designs, and they shouldn't be changed! I remember when I first joined and thougt that all of the designs were so cool and creative, and I still do. Don't take away one's uniqueness and put it in someone elses lineart!

Most of you may not agree with me. I understand, but to take away someone's uniqueness is like taking away a cutiemark from a pony and replacing it with a cutiemark that is the same as Rainbow Dash's or Twilight Sparkle's! The pony no longer ha a uniqueness and doesn't stand out and can be completely forgotten. Do we really want to forget Equimagine? I sertainly do not! I hope none of you want to either.

With that said, I really wish the lineart doesn't change. Equimagine's cutiemark (or uniqueness) will be taken away. What pony want's that?!

Honestly CS should have addressed this years ago. And they didn't. I never started "art theft is good" but is there any solid proof the lines are copied? Have any of you actually seen these photos? And now that CS made the mistake, it's there issue. But taking away or drastically altering our horses is unfair.
