And yes, the anatomy may have been copyed, so what your telling me is that the person who took the picture of a horse now owns that pose and if anyone ever draws a pose like that, there infringing on the first photographers rights? Im sorry but theres only so many ways to draw a horse.im sure if i wanted i could find poses of our curent lines by photographers. Now im not saying copying is ok, what im saying is that its improbable to belive that theres no way a lineart isnt already in photograph form. Unless its quite cartoony.
But i wont rant to much. Sides, ive only been here 4yrs.....some of those where my first pets....but ah well.
It is not the referencing of the photo that is the problem. If it was just influenced by a certain photo than it wouldn't be a big deal. But since it is almost an exact carbon copy of the photograph it is a problem. This is because it looks like they were traced on top of the image. Tracing is different than using a photograph as a reference. When you use a photo as a reference, you are using your talent to draw the picture. But a tracing is different because you aren't putting your own work into the drawing. Now I am not saying that she did this on purpose. It sounds like she originally used those linearts as practice for drawing and probably forgot that she had traced them. So I am not bashing her as an artist. It was an easy mistake. But it needed to be corrected for the integrity of CS.
It will take some time getting used to the new linearts and I am sorry that you feel that way.

I think the reall reason im upset about it is because she did put work into it. For a long time. The fact she left was sad enough, and to me this seems to be adding insult to injury. Now im not sugesting that was the intent, but where it me thats how i would feel.
And i was under the impression it was a referance. I know people who can copy a referance down veruy close if not almost identical. Now if she said yes it was a trace, ok, i was mistaken and i applologize. If she didnt...then whose to say it wasnt a referance?

Image is here. Someone earlier posted a better version, but I don't know where it is >.< She did cartoon it up a bit, but there is still enough to show that the didn't draw the lines herself, just went over them from a photo that was not hers to use.

Yes, there is a better version of the draft foal. That one is almost 1:1 traced. ^^;
