I just have no clue what to do with my over 3000 pets in my trade groups, sorted by rarity.
There is no way in hell I'm resorting all of those, guess I'll have to resort to them not being that accurate anymore :?
I would suggest making the group page as large as possible using &pageSize=X(insert number at Xs) and then using Control + F to find "rare" pets. It'll only work if you use the text label of rarity as opposed to the picture, but it means you can go straight to the rare pets, tick them and then move them all at once to a separate group. Same goes for any other rarity. ^^
Ah thanks, that sounds useful, just gonna hve to find out how to use control F on my macbook haha
Does this update essentially mean that when trading dates don't matter as much anymore? And what determines how much the dates matter? The longer I think about it the more confused I get :/

I think the dates still would matter for the most part, we just have more variety of rarities to work with now. c: Although i'm still pretty chilled about it when dealing with uncommons and under. <3

Essentially, what this update did was to just move the threshhold at which point a pet was considerd x rarity.
Dates would still somewhat matter, it's just that there is now not as much of a stretch between two rarities any more.
Basically, rarity is a spectrum with omg so common on one end, and omg so rare on the other.
A pet could start out omg so common, but as time goes on, there will be 1) more players on the site and 2) less of the pet left, as some get stuck on inactive accounts. So you have shrinking numbers of pets for a growing userbase. (Of course, once they turn rare they qualify for the re-release to make sure they don't become completely unaobtainable!)
Every pet will therefore slowly "wander" to the other side of the spectrum, and that's why older pets are considered worth more than newer ones - they're likely to already have shifted further towards the next rarity.
This rule of thumb has always been flawed, mind you. We can observe rarity changes, so for example, we know that a pet that just turned from common to uncommon is not as uncommon as a pet that's already been uncommon for a year.
But when a pet starts out as uncommon, how do you know where on the uncommon spectrum it is? We won't know its comparative value to other pets until it fluctuates to another rarity.
So there's always been the possibility that any specific 2017 uncommon is worth more than a specific 2015 uncommon.
"Older pets are more valuable" was and is most useful for gaps of several years.
But the thing is that waiting for a pet to shift in rarity requires quite some patience, and some pets won't change for years, so people made it a rule of thumb that the older a pet is, the more valuable it would be compared to other pets of the same rarity. Like any rule of thumb, it was never 100% accurate.
The only accurate way to tell what has equal worth is to see the raw numbers, and Nick has already stated that those will not e made public.

The drink me dog was more popular, and thus was bought more often than the eat me. That mans there were more of them released, making it less rare.
