Why are we arguing about which lineart is more anatomically correct?

We have unicorns, neon designs, and cartoony dogs.

No, none of them are very anatomically correct.

For the most part...why are most being so melodramatic or overly dramatic about the change? It's like they're wanting equi's stolen art to stay and not even let new replace what needs to be replaced. o.O Good gods!

You keep ignoring where we keep saying WE UNDERSTAND WHY THE CHANGES HAVE TO BE MADE AND THAT THE OLD LINES COULD NOT STAY FOR LEGAL REASONS (sorry for the cap abuse... but this is getting annoying) and all we ARE saying is that a simple line edit to the current lines (the ones they are being moved to) to make them unique would have actually soothed a LOT of people who are sad that the unique styles must go (read the bolded above if you are going to start chanting line theft again) and continuously chanting "art theft" when we know that and accept that is insulting.

I didn't mind so much when the old lines were discontinued, but now that they are going to be replaced completely totally stinks. I HATE this. I really do like the old lines and enjoyed having some in my collection. I wish they could just leave them as discontinued.
I'm not clear this is even copywrite infringement. If the lines are drawn from a photograph then it isn't because you aren't copying the same exact thing. Then it's just taking an outline of an image and that isn't copywrite. You are basically making a drawing from a reference pic which artists do all of the time.

That's not referencing a picture. That's blatantly copying it and giving no credit to the artist.
I'd suggest you read up on what referencing really is, because photography is a form of art, and tracing something directly is art theft.
And it does go into copyright issues.
