Rarity system updated to add 4 new categories!

A little bummed that it appears my dec 18th pets dropped rarities, but we're almost to december this year so 👁 we'll see how that goes

I think my main problem is the choice of rarity colors. Red stands out to me more than light pink and (to an extent) purple do, so every time I see the bright red I think it's rarer than it actually is

i agree with this! i love the update, but yes! the red and pink is really throwing me off
the bright red stands out more than the pink, which makes me assume it holds a higher value

while we do have the option of using stars with no color, i created a couple suggestions -

1st - switch the pink and red
while this is not longer 'rainbow order', the light pink transitions the light orange to the bright red nicely




2nd - make the red lighter, and the pink darker (personal fav)
this option keeps a 'rainbow order', but puts more emphasis on the pink and less on the red to help differentiate the value levels visually




the update is wonderful, but a slight change in the colors may help players visually differentiate values easier : )

This is great! It’ll definitely be an interesting adjustment for sure as far as trading goes, but I find it satisfying seeing the more precise rarities for pets. It’s cool to me seeing what true values were being hidden behind the broader categories this whole time. Also, I really love the variety of rarity bar display options!

nah, only staff members get customs. the little hearts r so freakin cute tho

i'm going with the colorful stars rn. i tried just colors but a couple of them blend for my blind ass, so i had to add the stars to help me out a lil lol

I tried all out and will stay with the bar and one single star, is more calm to my eyes than the others, tho I like them all^^

I know I'm in the minority but I kinda hate looking at my older pets as an older player and seeing the bars all red instead of orange. My new OMGSR's also don't feel deserved and it makes me a little sad I am happy for those that are excited about the changes though. I wish there were different color options for the bars that kept consistent with the old rating system

i disagree, this shows to me that our OLD system was extremely broken. we now have more accurate depictions of the rarities of these pets, many of which were seriously undervalued for years.

Honestly, after taking some time going through my new groups and seeing that everything has changed, I am super happy with the outcomes. I believe a lot of trading value these past years has been based on demand versus actual rarity, and many players felt like there was too large of a gap there. I find it harder to trade now than I did years ago. This new rarity system helps us have a better understanding of how many of these pets are actually on the site rather than what's popular at the time. While demand can change easily, the rarity is much more concrete. This should make more of a common ground for players. I have been a player for many years and some pets really are more scarce to see despite demand. You may often see pets of higher demand in the auction threads but not always the pets the majority doesn't want at the time, that shouldn't make them significantly less valuable than what they actually are. I was wary of this new change when first announced but after seeing the change and many pets having better value, I am super happy with it. It will take time to learn for everyone but it will all work out in the end c: Thinking back, I remember when rarities had the last big update adding omg so common etc. it was a little frustrating for a while for players but it worked. I'm confident this will too.
