I absolutely love the old-style ponys. Especially the fluffy PPS-Ponies. I really love to keep them.

If you check the front page, Tess mentions in the update that there might be some allowances made for particular favourite pets like the pony PPSes to preserve them, and that a new poll might be put up with that in consideration, as the PPS ponies seem to be a sticking point for many people. :3

Ok so that's the pony PPS, what about the horse PPS? I like the old horse PPS and would be sad to see the various different poses are reduced to one pose.

I love a lot of the old lines' designs, I remember adopting them when they were still being made by equimagine. It's not that I dislike them or don't collect them or anything, I voted yes so that I could use them XD I have a collection of horses inspired by a game and have looked at a lot of the equimagine ones that I wish I could have used, but the items don't fit them. Having them put onto the new lines would make it amazing cause I could actually use equimagine's designs for my groups, and be able to dress them up like I want!

I remember back when a lot of people wouldn't adopt the horses, or wouldn't accept them in a trade because of their lineart. Horses were, in general, fairly low in the value of most players who valued dogs the highest, which is a fair amount of CS. It would be good to just get them onto one lineart that people seem to have accepted more readily overall that will allow all the items to be used for them.

Equimagine horses are difficult to trade. I recently attempted to auction off 11 rare Equimagines and ended up getting one bid which I accepted just to get rid of the things. I can't wait for this change. I hope it happens.

There are different breeds of horses, so why can't there be different horses on here?

The old horses have so many memories attached to them (for me anyway) so I don't want to see them go. Sorry.

The new draft horses is okay... Don't get me wrong, I love the way it looks!! But... I like the old ones more =)

no, i love all of the old horses and ponies a lot better the way they are and i wish that all the new horses and ponies looked the way they did when i first joined in 2010
but i do like the new draft horse model, it kinda looks more realistic, at least to me

I am half for the change and half against the change.
I love the newer lines and i really don't like any of the older lines at all. xD Therefore updating them would be great, as i would like them much more. :) And the new draft lines are lovely.
However i don't collect the older horses, cuz i don't like the lines. So if the older lines were updated to the new lines, then i would be more than likely to try and add them to my collection, which would take an awful lot of time and effort trading. xD Which is perhaps not so good. :P
But i am mostly against the change because the older lines are a part of the history of chicken smoothie and many people adore them and updating them, would change that. They would no longer be different and they wouldn't show how much the site has changed and evolved over time.
So i am half and half, i don't mind if they are changed or if they are not changed. Just my thoughts on the matter. ;)

I don't know if this has been said, but from the few pages I didread through it has not. Would it not be simple for just the ones who want them changed for them to be able to like check a box and change just the horses they want so they can put the items on. Because it seems no matter what you do you are never going to make everyone happy as everyone likes things to be different from what other wants. To me it seems the only way to make the most people happy would be to give them there own choice for there own pets, as with this is changes everyone elses pets too even if they do not want it this way. Sorry if this has been stated before but to me this might be the only way to try and make everyone happy, because if you change them all then we kind of loose a piece of CS with some of the older horses. Like for me I like the look of the older horses better then the new ones and would be sad to see them go for good.

I would support something like this being implemented. Perhaps an option for a person to choose whether they want to see old or new linearts for the older horses, or something.

Perhaps even when you go to put items on them you can choose whether to have it old or new so you can dress it accordingly?

I would be entirely for this as well ^^ the best of both, it would be an ideal compromise for the users. However, it would be a heck of a lot of extra work for the item artists and Nick, and that's what they are trying to reduce, no?

Had I not already had most of those horses I would have bidded, Resin ;) As most other horse collectors I suppose.

BlueRuby wrote:No. Just no. I spent a good chunk of time collecting these horses and part of there value is that there older with a design that's no longer available. Taking out whats special in them is unfair to older members or member's who have large quantities of these horses.
I don't want to see the horses all turn uniform and look exactly the same. I, and others enjoyed how the old ones looked different from the current. Its unfair to users who traded or payed for a older horse, only to have them transformed into a new one.
Really, its just unnecessary work.

This too, follows my sentiment. I am especially reticent towards the original Equimagine ponies and horses (before her re-drawing) being converted, because if I want a Shetland I'll trade for a Yulynh pony, if I want a tack horse I'll trade for a Yulynh horse, but if I want a Welsh or a Thoroughbred/Arabian I'll go straight to the old original Equimagines like a bat. I like it like that. I mademy collections and projects like that. I am attached to my projects which I spent a good part of my early newbie trading fodder to complete. If all that effort was for nothing, I would just have to go back through all my '10 trades and throw them all one by one into the Trade Rant Thread moaning about how I paid some now-rare '10 dog I liked for these blasted ponies/horses which I won't like anymore.

I imagine a future, and I shudder xD

Again, my metaphor: I don't like much the 2million dollar Gauguin my National Arts Museum bought, but I would in no way want them to re-paint it different colors so that it looks more like a Van Gogh (which I like).

I am a really big horse lover and the only reason i really ever come on CS is to admire the amazingly drawn old horses, and if they go, what will i have to do on cs, i love collecting the old horses
i dont collect the newer versions of the horses cause i dont like them that much :(, plus why does it matter if the horses are different?
there are tons of different horse breeds in the world and I own at least 4 different breeds of horses and they all look very different from each other

And, even if I didn't like the old line-art so much, I would refuse to vote yes without knowing what they plan to do to the other line-arts that they're changing. Without an image I'm just assuming the unicorns will be the new horse line-arts with a horn shoved on their head. I love how original and out there the unicorns are now. They are mythical and magical creatures, they should all look different, not like some uniform boring mess.

I have to disagree on the draft. It looks fine- just like a draft should. :3 Thick and powerful!

And they haven't shown any unicorn designs crossed over to Yulyn's lines because they're still working on them. ;3 If it was just a 'horn shoved on their head' type deal, I'm sure they would have already given us an example!

Try looking at the new one next to the old one. It looks small. It looks square. It looks like it's posing. Draft horses should be powerful, built for working. I like something I can imagine throwing a harness on and having it haul with no problem, not something that looks like it was made to stand pretty for cameras.

And that's exactly my point with the unicorns (and donkeys and zebras, for that matter). They aren't done. How are we supposed to vote on something that we don't know if we'll like or not? It could just be a minor edit to an existing line-art, or something totally different. Until I know what it will look like, that's the image stuck in my mind for it.
