Couldn't we put a little symbol or something like there is on the PPS pets? Where it says like ____ : What does this mean on this pet? And it'll explain that the horse is one that could have it's lineart switched.

What about just changing the settings for your one account instead of everyone's?
This may work,because in viewing a trade,your setting's in Equimagine let's say.
Then you would view the other player's horse as an Equimagine lineart because you have toggled on that setting,so both would be Equimagine as oppose to one Yulynh and the other Equimagine,it would be both as one lineart because you have toggled on that one setting.
Same applies if you toggle on the other setting.
Would that work?

As I said in the previous comment, in this case you would see some really weird jumbles of items on horses/ponies if other users dressed them using a different display option to you. If they dressed them in the Yulynh style they'll fit, but if you view them in the equimagine style they'll look like a mess. It wouldn't be likely to cause many trade problems, but it would still cause some confusion, especially with people wondering why pets from 2011 onwards won't display in the equimagine style.

I don't think it's a bad thing to have different line arts. Having retired pets make hem special. Equamagines have this special design to them that makes them look like something different that other horses. I love equamagines and think they should stay.

As explained, part of the reason is that we feel it is weird to have so many different lines on one site. We'd prefer that most of the horses and ponies looked the same.

Some users prefer the novelty of having different kinds of lines on the site, but we think the old lines don't really fit with the CS art style and look strange mixed in our pet groups with the new versions.

But wouldnt that be unfair to us users who like a certain pet and dont like the new lineart version of it? :( I hoarded equi PPSs because they're adoreable; new middle stage doesnt look THAT adoreable, if it's changed, it means my hoard - on which I spent lots of rare pets - is meaningless and Ill have to dump them all because I dont like them in new style.((

I have to say I really don't care for the idea to update the old equimagine line arts. The variety of the different designs is something I've always enjoyed about CS and as others have already mentioned it would be a shame to see the evolution of the horses/ponies disappear. Not to mention the fact that so many players, including myself, actually really love the older line arts and have spent a lot of time searching for and collecting the equimagine horses.
I don't think it's fair to change the line arts just so they can be more easily dressed up or just so they will gain more demand in the trading market. The old line arts have a nostalgic appeal for so many players and I would hate to see them go.

I feel like the detail on the examples is amazing and I would love to see more of our horses like that. It would also help tremendously with my pony hoard by being able to hoard them all instead of just the new ones. The new draft lines are gorgeous as well and I'd love to start seeing them around. However, I am a little caught up with a few of them. Some of them I hoard just because of the way they look now, and I'm not positive if I would like them on the new lines.

I really, really like the idea about being able to choose. If there was simply an option, sort of like the one where you can change if the rarities show up in your groups so that you view the old lines if preferred... I feel like that might become complicated however. For example in the "Fun Ways to Use Items" thread, I feel like this version-changing might not work. Would people view the pets as the version they have, or as the other version? This might mess up how people view the items on the pets. If one person sees a new lineart pony with new lineart pony items, then would the people viewing the old version see the old version of that pony with random items all around? Sorry to use such a weird example.

Yes, if we implemented a "click to change type" button, it would look really odd if you saw someone else's pony which had been dressed up in a different display setting to the one you're using. This is one reason why we'd prefer not to implement something like that, it gets confusing when 2 people view the same pet and see something different.

On the other hand if changing the pet display changed the view for EVERYONE you'd have other problems, with it appearing that there were 2 completely separate pets existing on the site since you could put them side by side and have each one displaying a different version. We would not offer that, since it could be confusing in trading, having 1 outcome appearing as 2 different pets.

Well.... Wouldn't it be just the same design in different linearts? o3o

Yeah, I don't see the problem there honestly, I mean some items lines change (some change a lot) to fit pets, but the design is the same; this wouldn't be much different, in my opinion.

And perhaps from the trading point, to avoid scamming, in trades they would all display as new line arts; but from the normal pet group display it would appear (to everyone) as whatever the owner chose (just in case it's confusing, for anyone who looked at the group it could be either old or new line art, but it would be new lineart in the trade no matter what). Just an idea. :3

Actually. I'm a title confused why this was thought of at all. No one said the horses looked strange...?

And I don't recall the sky falling in about the item issue. -3- Everyone's lived widdit.

I would love to see them changed. I much prefer the new lines, and having all sorts of different lines bothers me. This is something I've been hoping to hear for a while actually! :3

You could always trade them away for a fair price for their new lovers if You won't like them that much and want to get rid of them =)
After years of commitment to the site I was treated like a dirt, falsely accused and judged by almost everyone with no chance to explain. I do not see the point to stay here anymore, so it's a farewell!

As much as I love the old pony lines, I honestly think it would be much better to transfer them onto the new lines. It's just really weird and odd that the horses and ponies have so many different line-arts, whilst most other species only have one. Just looking at the old ones now, I don't think they fit in anymore...it's just strange and weird. All of them have different styles...it just doesn't fit. :U

If they were changed, they would fit in and look so much better! ^w^ <3
