I have an apology to make seeing as I never knew the backstory about the shady reputation this art has. If there is a legal reason these horses should be change then that I a whole different issue, and If it is serious then I have no doubt this change will happen. In that case I must say I am a bit disappointed with CS, but it is understandable why the change should take place.

Note that this changed opinion is ONLY because of the questionable history of the art, and my previous feelings about the change are the same.

I know this has been asked already, but are ALL of Equi's horses going to be changed? I don't really think all of them should be. From the photos that are what Equi supposedly used, I can see that not all of the lines are traced(if any are). The bowing-down-unicorn and the adult horse lines have edits in them. The unicorn has a horn added and the tail is all slim and has none of the long fuzzyish hair most horses have except for a tuft on the tail. So it has a sort of donkeyish tail and the original that was used did not have that.(I can't say it better, not trying to be rude). For the adult horse, the head, neck, mane, tail, and some other less noticeable things are changed too. So the crouching unicorn and adult horse are not traced or copied. Maybe used as inspiration or as something to base it off of, but it is not a direct copy. I really don't think that the lines that are not art theft should be removed. I get that they are hard to dress, but (again, not trying to be rude) I think that dressing them is a bit more kiddish. I know that adults can play dress up too, but mostly it is the younger children who dress the horses up. Or at least that is the way it is for me. I also understand that if you search the Internet long enough you will probably find a horse that looks exactly like Equi's lines, but that can't be helped. Horses can only do so many poses because they are not made of rubber and can't twist and bend into crazy shapes. Or the image you find might have been edited or photoshopped to look different. I am very sorry if I was rude, upset someone, or you feel insulted by what I wrote here. I am just stating my opinion and have nothing against anyone or their designs.

The old lineart can stay, as long as there aren't any legal problems, but the draft horses should definitely get their new lineart.

Though I'm still not against changing it if it goes through, especially for the ponies. The old lineart for the ponies just looks anatomically wrong.

I'm the opposite, I really love the old draft lines,
I think their cute, and I'll be really sad to see them go
The new lines just aren't as appealing to me :/

The horses will be placed on the new lineart [horses and ponies] to allow for uniformity. The drafts will go on the new lines, zebras/unicorns will go on their own lines, etc.
This is should this go through. ^^

it seems to me a lot of people voting for the change don't care because the horses are not their main focus. Those of us with extensive horse collections are the ones this is going to hurt.

The new heavy-horse lineart(draft) is absolutely amazing, but could it be given a tail?

Depending on the horse breed, some larger drafts like percherons do not have a full tail. ^^ They are supposed to be work horses, so they do not have as much of a tail at the back in order to not get into machinery/work.

The ones I've seen(mostly pet Clydesdales) have their tail left as it is, my thinking being that technically CS horses are pets? Maybe some with and some without would work, I know working horses often have them cut/plaited.

It's gorgeous either way though, the only one of these changes I'd really like to see

I think as they're used, some artists will probably add an edited tail [or it might already be an option which we can't see yet (think of the dogs with crinkle ears, bob tails, etc)] so it might already be on the lineart, just wasn't used for the example. ^^

I'd rather say people voting "I don't mind" are the ones who aren't really focusing on horses.
After years of commitment to the site I was treated like a dirt, falsely accused and judged by almost everyone with no chance to explain. I do not see the point to stay here anymore, so it's a farewell!

Ooh, I didn't think of that, but it's a good point.

Are we likely to get new drafts in future? They seem a bit abandoned and I'd wondered if that was a lineart problem(didn't have the rights to use it any more or something). Maybe a question for Tess that, I'm not sure who decides these things, but it'd be nice to see more of them(St. Pat's in particular is the sort of theme where some drafts would be appropriate!).

I think Tess would be the best person to answer that but I too would love to see new drafts regardless of the vote. c:
